HDFC Bank Not Refunding Money Rs.53147

TF Buzz
Hi,
I did a transaction of Rs.53147 on Flipkart on 30th September 2024 From my HDFC bank rupay credit card where due to some technical error or something payment got debited but order not completed after that I saw on order history in Flipkart where order is in pending state or a message display that " If any amount debit then contact to your bank".
And then after that I contacted HDFC bank and raised this issue and same time I contacted Flipkart Customer care where Flipkart told me we don't receive any payment because the order was not completed.
After that I contacted HDFC bank too many times via call and mail and their dispute team but nothing happened after more than 3 months passed no refund provided still.
They told me to provide proof where transactions are not received to merchant
Flipkart every time told me there are no details available for this transaction
If anybody knows how to handle this case or got my refund back

I was in a similar situation but the bank was Federal Bank. Flipkart didn't care about this issue at all. I had to raise a dispute request for the transaction and it got reversed after 15 days though the bank asked to wait for 45 days .

You need to fight with both...

If bank is saying transaction was successful than get transaction number from them and fight with flipkart for issuing refund

If flipkart is saying they are not able to trace transaction than fight with bank

Man Flipkart is dog shit when it comes to support. I have stopped rejecting packages even if there is minor dent in the packaging claiming damages. Again they have negative support, if you raise an issue they will actively blame you, if you somehow have an iron clad case, they will close your case and stop responding to emails. You are more likely to win a 1Cr lottery than to get transaction details from Flipkart. And in all likelihood Flipkart is doing this deliberately to get some interest money until you raise a dispute.

The dispute system is made just for that, it would be bank's job to get those details from Flipkart.

Yes it's a big issue now. But the thing is that even if we smart buyers stop purchasing from Flipkart, there are people from Rural areas who don't understand all these, will keep ordering from their platform.

Since, Hdfc confirmed that the amount is credited to flipkart, I would suggest you to raise chargeback for the transaction with HDFC giving the reason that you didn't receive the product and merchant aslo not helping.
ALSO, lodge a complaint againt mother fu*ker flipkart on consumer helpline and other central grievance portal as well.
Same happened with me on Swiggy , but bloody Swiggy told that they have provided the services , and those mfs kept on saying that they have no information about failed transaction, bloody Swiggy.

Flipkart being an Indian startup was scamy from start (Just like swiggy, zomato, Zepto etc). There is a well known system to keep genuine buyers separate from shitty ones, see their account history, Amazon for all its flaws will always consider a customer's account history in case of an issue and even though it takes time you get some resolution.

Flipkart WANTS scamy customers, thats most of its business model. Their whole business is made around scammy customers, sellers, delivery partners etc. They have openbox delivery to deny responsibility and F everyone in the process seller, delivery partner, customer....everyone except Flipkart. So it's ok if people in rural areas buy their shit, lets start somewhere.

this is horrendous, I might shift all my spends to AmEx.
I already have. Amazon is the only place where I use all my CCs are required. While they are not grate, they are OK, they atleast have a customer support. I once had a warranty issue after two months but the brand has no support in India, my Amazon case went on for 6 months but Amazon sent me another product free of charge and I got to keep the old one (not that it was of any use to anyone else).

Flipkart is only usable for Mobile Phones (openbox) and brands that have solid after sales suppot.

You are absolutely correct 💯!! I'm not purchasing a single thing on Flipkart from last one year. Only a few grocery when it's not available on Amazon. I'm living in a semi-urban area so fast grocery options aren't available, so that's why sometimes I open Flipkart, otherwise it's not Flipkart, it's Ch***Kaat 🥸
