HDFC Bank Scammed me.

TF Buzz
So I'm an account holder of hdfc savings account from 2023. A guy from my home branch issued a pos merchant device (called mosambi) on my name without any digital/physical consent of mine which charged me 1500rupees+GST which is directly deducted from my hdfc savings account. That bank employee told me that he will make it refund to me within a few months but he never make it refunded back into my account. Now can I sue HDFC bank on RBI ombudsman by the name of fraud which is done by them by issues something which i never asked for. I even denied the verification for that pos device from my end even though the rental amount was deducted later on which at that time pissed me a lot. The guy who did all this already left the bank. I visited the branch recently and an another employee was saying that they can't give any assurity about my refund. Actually i went for my recent bank MAB charges levied on my account because i couldn't maintained my account for few months and the total amount is around 500-600rs. Even though i hold some multiple Lakhs of FDs on that account, They ignored and denied me patheticly that's why I want to sue them based on my that particular incident. I want the BM and their petty pathetic employees a hard lesson. Is there any way to screw them hard like paying them a good amount of competition?

Update#1 sent email to BM,RM and PNO related to this fraud.
Update#2 The POS machine got collected by the bank.
Update#3 reported this incident in RBI ombudsman portal as hdfc support desk and branch guy threw bs in my email inbox.

"That bank employee told me that he will make it refund to me within a few months but he never make it refunded back into my account." : at that time only you should had lodged a complaint at nodal officer or pno, now only solution is lodge a formal complaint via email to nodal officer or pno asap and if no satisfactory received lodge complaint to RBI immediately

Write a formal complaint to the branch manager with the proofs you have for the refund and take the receiver stamp copy for yourself.

Tell the BM that if this is not resolved I have to file a formal complaint with PNO and RBIO .

Yes you're right there's been some negligency done by my side too but the sins they did and doing currently is not forgiveable from my sight of aspect as they can't even reverse a pretty 600-700rs of MAB charges. It's payback time.

First they will not entertain there ex employees,

Ask for reversal about there previous employee mistake on your name & then ask that he was going to remove those charges as you never applied for the same, if they deny then You simply have to ask whether you applied for the POS machine and if yes, you need a copy of your application.

If they deny then you can take steps that you never applied and why got charged. That will be simply in your favour and if they brought you some duplicate documents then it will be a huge fraud going on not only with you it will be for large number of people.

And in this case you may loose this case as your duly signed paper will be presented for your application and you will be not able to answer about your signature on that application.

so I opened my HDFC bank savings account via branch in 2023, after my account was successfully opened, the employee who opened my savings account issued a POS machine under my name against my will by forging my signature(according to the current employee person, they need the account holder's signature as a consent), which cost me 1500r+GST. I initially denied it, but then he insisted and told me that he would refund the charge amount after a few months, which he never did. Anyway, cut to 2024 December I could not maintain my account due tosome financial issues. It's like from last 3 months and the branch levied the mab charges for which I visited the branch to request them to waive those amounts which would be around 700 in total lmao. but as usual, the bank employees' ignorant attitudes ignored me and simply told me that they would not gonna waive the charges even though I maintain multiple lakhs of FD with them in my savings account. and that is the very reason I am taking all necessary steps related to this 2023 incident. I have already sent the BM, RM, and the PNO about this incident via mail and asked for clarification recently and the same guy who delivered me the POS machine in 2023 came to me today to recover the POS machine which I also told in the mail that if they are willing to take back the device they can as its not my responsibility.

now if anybody knows how to deal with this kinda situation and most importantly how to prevent it. like by this logic any bank employee can encash or transfer someone's bank money or issue anything by forging the account holder's signature.

For first part I have no knowledge, you can try but little tough considering the time duration

Why have you created a new thread again? when you have same thread on same topic again?

Please use same thread for continuous flow of discussion. Merging both.

Did you got any device?

Check the transaction charges and enjoy card to bank transfer😅🤣

Jokes apart

Have you tried discussing this with BM?
just returned the device today. it was a mini pos device and I had tested 1/2 credit card transaction years ago when I received and then I never used it lol.
I mailed BM about it at initial but no response from his end for now.

Now, it is cleared if you didn't accepted and then asked for reversal they will have to do it.

But in your case you accepted the machine & Also checked with transaction they will not revert it.

Even RBI OMBUDSMAN will not help in this case.

Sorry it's your fault.

that is what I am telling from the beginning, yes I accepted that pos machine with the trust that he will make the charges refund bank into my account. and about the transaction part I did that because he told me to do it as initial.

He trapped you, now nothing can be done as you were responsible for the transaction made through POS Terminal.

doing a simple 100-200 rupees of pos transaction will prove that the signature they used to issue that pos machine was not forged by them? or is it okay too even when I denied for the business verification for that POS machine they did not make any objection over this 2 years?

See i also have my father's business and an android POS machine of hdfc.

They will directly put there point if you didn't applied for the POS, How come you have done transactions on that POS?

The TID generated for your pos will have all data related to your application and transactions.

They will come to you with those things and definitely you have no answer about anyone telling and you are doing anything.

Forget about money charged and cancel the TID,
Else you will get charged again next year.

the account I am holding with them is a 5k MAB savings account and yes they did issue me a merchant POS device under the savings account which I don't know how.
Bro I had the same device. And similar issue regarding outrageous convenience charges so I closed it. But to my knowledge this TID can be only issued to a merchant current account, I know because I had to open one for it.
