NOTE: Unfortuantely , it was not a secondary email update.. this updates the primary email... so dont act on this...

They want us to give a seperate email id so that all the UPI transactions go to that desired email address rather than the main email address that we useas of now...

It seems there was no secondary email concept .. I was initially mistaken.. Apologies for the confusion.

I'm surprised that people actually want lesser communication for transactions. In fact, I'm actually mildly upset that I won't be getting sms updates for some transactions.

While it's not a regular occurrence, I have come across situations where smaller shops would have an outdated, invalid or non functional QR codes out front. They only point you to the right QR code once I tell them that Gpay is not showing the "tick". Gpay does not inform you if a pending transaction went through or failed. At that moment, the transaction sms/email comes in very handy as I ask them to take note of the transaction reference number.

This allows me to make a second transaction using the correct QR code, which is essentially a second payment, while also givingme the peace of mind that, in case of a non reversal, I can approach the shopkeeper.

Imagine making 10+ transactions in a day and having to wade through hundreds of transactions in the statement at the end of the month in an attempt to identify that one transaction you made about 20 days ago.
