HDFC CC declined first and later requesting for income documents?

Hello,

My HDFC CC application got rejected couple of weeks ago and the staus on website shows as "DECLINE".

But I received an email yesterday from HDFC requesting me to mail them my income documents to further process my CC application. They quoted the same application number which was rejected earlier.

Has anyone experience the same with HDFC? Do you know of anyone whose application was rejected and later the same was processed?

Anyways, I sent an email to HDFC for confirmation.

Had a similar experience, but for a different reason. The site showed DECLINE, but they wanted address proof. Submitted it at the nearest branch, with the same application number and within a few days the DECLINE became APPROVE.

So when it comes to HDFC, the status being DECLINE doesn't always mean rejected. There can be second chances

I had applied for millania card in early March.
In my case they wanted me to send hard copies of salary slips to Chennai HO.
I declined stating that I don't want to spend money on postage.
So out of nowhere without my consent they sent me moneyback card in end of march.

I mailed customer care regarding the same
They stated that as per your application we can only give you this card only. So i mailed grievance, in 3 days without any documentation they sent me Millenia card.

So if you really want to get any card just mail them

HDFC probably.

It was funny though, "I don't want to waste money on postage".

I had a good chuckle, now this is the attitude we need to have with these banks. They earn from our usage.
If they state that they are doing paperless application then I see no point sending the same papers to them

How can they verify the hard copies I sent are genuine or not.
