Regalia Gold HDFC changed my credit card application while in process

Hello everyone. I'm having a bizarre experience with my first HDFC application so far. Below is the timeline.

7-Sep: I applied for the HDFC regalia gold which I was finally eligible through the online application. Earlier I always got the Money-back+. So, I was so happy. I completed the VKYC and got the mail from Shri Parag Rao ji about the successful completion and the reference number

10-Sep: I got an SMS that the application (same number mentioned as an 7-Sep mail) has been processed and I can track status after 2 days

12-Sep: I get an SMS to upload income documents for the application (same number mentioned). I do it the same day.

18-Sep: Today I was trying to track the application status only to see no records found. I called up the toll free to check and the computer lady is mentioning some other application number as the only application linked to my number. I try to track the status using that and it says in process.

Does this mean HDFC has changed my credit card itself? How much more should I be waiting?

Edit: Received the Regalia gold card on 23rd Sep

Same happened with me. 2 application number for same card. The one you received on sms is right one. No record found will keep coming in between

Infinia. Got it after 1 month. I had applied offline through branch

I finally got the message that my application is approved and the card will reach in 3 working days. The application no. mentioned was the first given number. So, hopefully I get the same card as I applied 😅

In my experience also, HDFC credit card application tracking seemed unreliable. It gave results which caused me to panic but finally all turned out to be false alarms.

It's worth it if you want lounge access and can meet the quarterly benefits, otherwise there are better cards available, I have LTF Regalia and do not want to upgrade to FYF Regalia Gold as of now

I’m trying to justify fyf upgrade to regalia gold

I was primarily looking for a card that would give me reward points on jewellery/gold purchase, rent and merchants where Amex is not accepted

I already have Amex MRCC, Plat Travel and use them to load GVs for utility, quick grocery
I use Amazon pay to get 5% on routine grocery spends.

I was planning for Atlas or Regalia gold. And I found Regalia gold better for my spends because it gives RPs on jewellery and rent is included in milestone. There's also no fee on one rent payment in calendar month. And I think I can hit the fee waiver milestone of 4L this year and subsequently request LTF

This is my first credit card with HDFC, so also wanted to start with a good core card for future upgrades.

none of these banks have made a tool which can track the credit card application status correctly. From SBI to so called Amex all banks have something broken in between when trying to check the application status via Application Reference Number they have provided. So better to wait until you receive an email or SMS about approval.
