So, finally, other banks have started following SBI's path. HDFC is the second bank after SBI.

Purchases eligible for Instant Discount/ Cashback on HDFC Bank Credit Card will not qualify for Reward Points. The same will be reversed within 120 days of end of cashback posting month or end of offer month for Instant discount offers.

Seems like my 4yrs old millennia will just become a show piece in my wallet, it's good that it's ltf or else I'd have to cancel it. Anyhow I have been using sbi cashback replacing millennia as my daily, just used Millennia to buy S23 FE with 2k instant discount and got 1k points, let's see when and how they take it back now.

Just found this Flipkart BBD sale when I was trying to buy an AC using Infinia to avail 2000 Rs instant discount. Price was 39 K and the instant discount would reduce that to 37 K.
Is this something that is newly introduced ? I have received RPs on earlier instances even when I availed instant discount.

Its like 37000/150 = 246*5 points lost and If I choose to use 10000 using Flipkart smartbuy voucher and pay the rest using Infinia, I think it will be a better deal.
Flipkart 10000 GV is gonna give me 10000/150 =66*5*5 = 1650 and for the remaining that I pay with the card I will get nothing.

Any food for thoughts? Suggestions.

So i purchased a smartphone from Flipkart today in which sbi,axis and hdfc were providing instant discount ,I used my swiggy hdfc card

No, because this sale (Big Diwali) is for SBI only.

Outcome of such an action is

Customers will loose their CIBIL score, as they will close cards and jump to better ones in less than 1 year timeframe

HDFC market share will go down, which has been declining even after offering promising cards like Milennia, Infinia, Swiggy, Tata Neu. So you know what is going to happen to HDFC soon
