HDFC Credit Card Question

Hello All, I had settled a credit card with hdfc in the past(13 years ago). Is there a possibility to get a new credit card if I close the existing one paying the dues and getting a NOC?

Just to share,

My father had SBI Card, was settled back around 2017. He still hasn't paid dues. In Oct 2022 he applied new card via SBI Sprint and virtual card generated within 5 mins. Now planning to pay off settled dues in some time.

SBI and ICICI offers credit cards even if you had settled something in the past before 7 years. HDFC is one bank which I am not sure. So, checking to see if anyone knows the answer

Are you sure? Bank is not giving confirmation. Credit card teams says they will issue NOC but I have to check with bank for eligibility
