HDFC Credit Card rejected after address verification.

Hi everyone! I applied for HDFC Pixel Credit Card from PayZapp on 24th Dec. Completed vKYC same day. On 26th Dec, a person came for address verification. Took photos of me and our home. He confirmed that verification is complete and I will be getting approval message within a day. Next day (27th), I got an SMS saying that my application has been processed. So I click the link to check the status and it said that the card is rejected. What went wrong? I am self-employed, so home address and office address is same. Is that the reason? If that's the reason, then I doubt there's any use of applying again after 60 days.

That would mean Self-employed people who work from home would never be able to apply for a HDFC credit card.

This rule applies when you apply manually while HDFC official online channel (website) or even offline card to card basis

But if you apply via other channels, you can get HDFC credit cards even if your office/work address is the same as home address due to being work from home & self-employed. Here's how I got my cards:

Business MoneyBack LTF (pre-approved offer in netbanking/official online channel)
Neu LTF card (via Neu app)
Swiggy LTF card (via Swiggy app)
Freedom LTF card (via Paytm app)

So yes, we're at a major disadvantage but it's possible

I applied through Payzapp, and there was no mention that Office and Home address can't be same. On website they give you warning if it's same.

You could get a core card via pre-approved route, then I think they relax the Pixel card rules when you apply via PayZapp. It's sort of pre-approved as long as you haven't applied for an HDFC card recently I think.

In Tata Neu application I use same address for Home and office. But Tata neu app wasn't accepting it. So I left it but after someday I again tried to apply and this time I was also to proceed further. It was approved and then delivered. I don't know how things are right now

I asked for the reason of rejection. Got the following reply:

But they'll still do physical verification. Right? So there's chance of rejection again.


Mostly product designs and website designs. Right now I am doing it part-time. Currently pursuing my Masters full-time.

I hold credit cards from almost all major banks. Only HDFC is missing. I put employment as Self-employed, designation as owner and office address same as home address for all of them and got approved.
