I upgrade from millennia to platinum debit card
My both are active
I want to know when my old debit card wil close and what will happen to my upcoming reward of millennia debit card

90 days .
Hi, I upgraded to the Millennia Debit Card through the HDFC Mobile Banking app 3 days ago, but there’s been no update about the new card yet.

Earlier, I was holding the RuPay Platinum Debit Card. About 3 years ago, I had the Millennia Debit Card, which I closed after receiving the RuPay one.

I just wanted to check — will my upgrade request to the Millennia card be rejected because of this?

You will get the card. You will see the card in mobile banking within three working days, most probably tonight or by Monday night around 11:30 PM. But to activate that card, you may have to wait up to seven working days.

The Millennia Debit Card has finally started showing in Mobile Banking, but it has been issued in the Mastercard variant. I was actually expecting the Visa variant, as HDFC issues the Millennia Debit Card in the Visa Signature. I specifically wanted that for the Visa Signature Times Prime offer.

I also wanted to check regarding my existing RuPay Platinum Debit Card will it be automatically closed now that the new card has been issued, or do I need to contact customer care to close it manually?

Lastly, what would you suggest ---- should I continue with the Mastercard variant, or should I raise a request with customer care to get it converted to Visa (if that's possible)?

Could you write more about Visa signature DC for Times prime offer! AFAIK it's for CC (offer is not active now). If u able to tell me ways to activate times prime then only I might able to guide you how to get your mc millennia replaced with visa millennia. Write in details how to get times prime using visa signature DC.

Deactivation of the old card will be automated after use of new one. Before that answer my query. So that I can help u.

Ah, makes sense now! So the Visa Signature × Times Prime offer that I had in mind was actually for credit cards all along , and here I was thinking the debit card variant was silently doing wonders in the background
Appreciate you connecting the dots -I’d only come across a post here (which, as you mentioned, doesn’t work anymore), and just assumed it applied to DC as well. Clearly, not the case. Looks like Visa Signature debit cards are just... chilling, without the perks I had in mind.

On a more practical note — would love your take (or from others here too): is it worth sticking with the Mastercard Millennia variant, or should I try pushing for a Visa Signature DC just in case new offers roll out later?

First get clarity from those who have times prime. I have limited knowledge on this. Other than that I don't think much difference. Some people earlier said that apay started charging for wallet loading from mc debit cards and not from visa debit cards. U can check that also, before coming to a conclusion.

Other than (possible benefits due to) above mentioned points I don't think any differences between mc/visa millennia. I had experienced using both mc and visa millennia earlier and even now I have a visa millennia.

Visa Signature Times Prime offer not available on my visa debit card
Probably only available for credit card holders
