HDFC declined my credit card application. Hence need suggestion for a premium savings account elsewhere

I applied for an hdfc credit card via branch C2C . Credit score over 800 and have itr over 30l. I was on lookout for a premium savings account as a safe house and manager suggested savings max.

2 months ago took savings max and applied for card.same id proofs given . They approved my max account and i transferred the money.

But card application was stalled with repeated asks for aadhar and Id proof. Since I travel a lot, had to visit diff branches of hdfc and everywhere it's been pathetic customer service. Application finally rejected after I gave ultimatum to branch after 2 months.. reason is Id proof concern. I got an email asking to submit aadhar and no other communication. No idea why they did this. Branch has no idea and says it's from Chennai.

I want an account to keep my money which I have in addition after investing. I am not going to use that account for net banking or UPI or card txns.

Have a salary account with icici and axis Bank credit card if it helps. Min Balance requirement is not an issue.

Suggestions welcomed.

Min Balance requirement is not an issue.
HDFC has pathetic customer service and absurd rules.

As you mentioned min bal is not an issue, go for Axis Burgundy or IDFC Wealth. For Burgundy maybe wait till Sept. They’re most probably updating their offerings and might get you a good HNI card LTF along with it.

IDFC Wealth, Icici Wealth Select, Indusind Pioneer are some common premium banking accounts but I think the Burgundy with its Debit card is a bit better than others.

But sadly none of them will match the kind of offers that HDFC run.

I just didn't agree with your contention!

In fact, I can even reword what you said as:

" Axis have pathetic customer service"
Umm, alright.. I agree on that.
But I don’t understand are the benefits of the Burgundy Debit card not better than the Wealth Debit, Icici Wealth Select visa infinite, HDFC Platinum Imperia and indus Pioneer debit and some others?
Customer care is mediocre for almost most banks. Some like Citi being an exception.

Well, of the ones you mentioned, I have only the HDFC Platinum Imperia other than the Burgundy DC. I have more use for the former myself (though only for paying my CC bills).

If you could only tell me on which counts you put the Burgundy DC ahead, maybe I can mention my view.

In any case, I can perhaps anticipate one, -- and I don't have any use for BMS offers, so that has no value to me.

My Burgundy DC is lying unused.

BMS is still a benefit and depends on the use case. It also has disc on non movie tickets as well. Maybe OP might use it!? 🤷‍♂️
More lounge access and more lounges as well, eazydiner, some lifestyle advantages as well.

HDFC is good for the CC bill payment no doubt, but OP is shifting his acc from HDFC.
Of all the Accounts I did mention in my first comment, I think burgundy has a better debit card.
On the service front I think Burgundy & Wealth have a little advantage.

Well, fair enough. With contrasting views presented, the OP can make a more informed decision.

As far as I am concerned, even apart from the service quality, Axis is a far less professionally run bank, and is apparently a collection of disjointed departments, with no functional communication infrastructure amongst them. Things break down all the time, and take for ever to get fixed. There are more issues as well.

At HDFC, there of course are many things to complain about too. But basic things just work (which is more than I can say for Axis). And that's what is most important to me.

OP means?

Just You have to wait for hdfc credit card agent they call and ask some documents send it via WhatsApp that's enough you get credit card with in 2 weeks I get hdfc shoppers stop rupay lifetime free credit card or you can apply In online iam a student with 749 cc score with 133000 limit

On current form, I’d vote for Burgundy.
I’m one.
Axis with all its failings offers more via the debit card and the credit card portfolio.
They are flexible in favour of the customer, mostly.

HDFC appears more professionally run but is hard nosed and hugely inflexible, in my experience.
They won’t buckle even a bit.
I’ve been Imperia in the past.

For just a little more from HDFC, I wouldn’t trade Burgundy for Imperia.
