HDFC Diners Intermiles upgraded to DCB - what happens to the Intermiles?

Will HDFC transfer my 56K Intermiles to Diners Club? If yes, will it be beneficial over the Intermiles redemption? If not, should I redeem the Intermiles? (For eg. getting 17 paisa/IM for Amazon Pay vouchers)

I think they transfer reward points to your upgraded card but on a proportionate basis. Say, you have 50k points on your card which you earned @ 4RP per Rs 150 spent but with the new card, you will earn @ 5RP per Rs 150 spent. Then, they will credit your new Card account with 40k points.

I was upgraded from some basic card to an allmiles card in 2015 and then to regalia in 2017 but never lost any RPs.

But, better talk with customer care before hand preferably over email, to avoid surprises.

I think I got your question wrong.

I think you are looking for the value of the points upon upgrade.

About that I am not sure. I think you will get the same value, though. No point in redeeming those for cash if you will be able to use them in future for travel.

The InterMiles would stay in your InterMiles account after card change, use them as per your need. They won’t be transferred.
Got regalia in place of InterMiles card with 0 reward points to start with.

Your intermiles will stay as is. It would have been better had they been transferred

Use InterMiles to buy Amazon vouchers as 5% off using InterMiles and remaining amount by another credit card.
So for 5000 voucher you pay 4750rs and remaining 250rs from 610 InterMiles giving a value of around 40p per mile

Max 50k Amazon vouchers can be bought in a month, paying Rs 45k and remaining through 6100 miles. 40paise/mile That’s the best value you can get from then.
Or any other vouchers as per your use like flipkart Myntra Nykaa etc
