HDFC Global Value Program (GVP) is expired now?

I was looking for details on GVP to enroll for my upcoming international trip and found this. This is the only official place where anything about GVP was detailed as far as I know.

Yes. I spoke to CC just now and the GVP has expired for all new and existing customers effective Mar 31, 2024.

I received the GVP cashback in today's statement. But anybody have any idea how it's calculated? The numbers are not matching with my interntainal transactions in my current statement.

It is 1% of the transactions in foreign currency - excluding FCY charges (2%) and GST (18% of FCY charges). I don't think it is valid on transactions done via DCC though I generally don't opt for it.

So if I do transactions of 10k INR, it should give me 100 cashback in same statement. But it's not the case with me. I check last 2-3 statement ls and the cashback is not matching.

While it is working for now the offer hasn't been refreshed and even many customer care people are saying it's over. It's possible that the offer will be over in the near future and I suspect that is the case.

How much transaction you have done till date after activation of GVP and how much Cashback you have received...(Don't add forex markup fees)

Are some of these transactions DCC - did the merchant convert to INR at the time of purchase. Though I haven't checked it in detail, not noticed any issue till now.

No DCC txns. Most of them are amazon usa

Does anyone have any idea how is DCB acceptablity in Thailand? Was thinking of enrolling in GVP for the trip..

I also have plain Magnus - which will give 2.4%-2% on spending there.. what do you guys suggest?

DCB is not accepted in 9/10 places in Thailand.
Magnus has 2% + GST so it is net zero

Call them to get it activated now. It takes 2-3 days and if it's not activating anymore do update here.
