For this which account variant i have to open?

You can ask your RM about why it was charged? and ask him reverse..

To my surprise, SBI cards were no longer listed as billers on hdfc payments. Hoping its just a temporary glitch as was enjoying the extra 1% CB

Try paying up and report. Its listed but check if your already added sbi cards are still there or if you are able to add a new sbi card as a biller and pay up for that

Even my saved sbi card is gone all of a sudden. Only yesterday I paid my bill and today it's gone

I'm inclined to think this is just a temporary hiccup, given that even my attempt to make a payment through Amazon (for a credit card bill via UPI) was unsuccessful, and resulted in an automatic refund. Eventually, I managed to make the payment using my SBI net banking account. However, not everyone has an account with SBI.
