I have done vkyc for hdfc savings max account and now how do I convert my account to classic or preferred from day 1.
I've read i can provide a cheque or something need clarification on that.
Option 1:visit/contact branch, give required value cheque /transfer amt. They'll upgrade.
Option 2: maintain 1L mab for 1,quarter, you'll get automatic upgrade option

Went to the branch and asked the employee that i need to convert my account to classic or preferred, how do I proceed with that. He straight away denied and said YOU CANT. I even mentioned that if i deposit like 3 lacs will it be possible? He said maintain the balance for 2-3 months you'll get offer on your net banking
Called hdfc cc regarding, how to check the AMB for my savings max account and he didn't have enough knowledge he started to say it depends on city to city....
In my idfc account i can see my amb till date anytime i want.
Anyone shed some light on this plz
with savingsmax you cannot get preferred tier easily. you have to maintain 15lacs in deposits. any balance above 1.25lakhs will get swept out of savings account so it is not possible to have an amb required for preferred tier.

but then why to go for savingsmax?
will it still remain a savingsmax account if i disable the auto sweepout that is its main feature? and will i be able to have all the advantages of that account if i turn it off?

It's a higher variant so better chances of preapproved offer.
No experience regarding second query. But it should remain as max account (25k mab)
Thirdly, yes, if you maintain 25k mab or 1.5L fd
