Guidance for Srinagar-Katra-Jammu Trip Itinerary (January 2025)

Hello,
I am planning a trip from Pune to Srinagar, Katra, and Jammu from 21st January 2025 to 27th January 2025 with the following details:


• Flights:
• Arrival in Srinagar on 21st January at 7:10 AM
• Return from Jammu on 27th January at 8:15 PM
• Stay:
• 4 nights in Srinagar (21st to 24th January)
• 2 nights in Katra (25th to 26th January)

• Places I intend to cover:

1. Srinagar: Dal Lake, Mughal Gardens, Shankaracharya Temple
2. Sonmarg (Day Trip): Thajiwas Glacier, Sindh River
3. Gulmarg (Day Trip): Gondola Ride, skiing, and snow activities
4. Pahalgam (Day Trip): Betaab Valley, Aru Valley, Lidder River
5. Katra: Vaishno Devi Yatra and Bhairon Nath Temple
6. Jammu: Direct transfer to Jammu Airport on 27th January


I would like your guidance on the following:


1. Does this itinerary look feasible given the weather and travel conditions in January?


2. Are there any important tips for winter travel, such as road conditions, vehicle types, or local transport options?


3. Can you suggest reliable taxi services or local tour operators for day trips to Sonmarg, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam?


4. Are there any key attractions or activities I may have missed?

sonmarg weather based. adjust or have plan b.

Gardens not much to see during Jan, so it will be quick or depends on how you enjoy it.

2. Are there any important tips for winter travel, such as road conditions, vehicle types, or local transport options?

local transport alwyas there, its the only way for some places. they'll take care and advise accordingly.

3. Can you suggest reliable taxi services or local tour operators for day trips to Sonmarg, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam?


4. Are there any key attractions or activities I may have missed?

you covered mostly. just take time, enjoy the place, register in your mind, have fun.

you can do pony rides (horse riding) in Pahalgam.

Mughal Gardens mai kch nahi hota winter mai. Wahan Spring, Summer, Autumn mai maza ata hai. Shankar Acharya temple and Pari Mahal se acha view ayega Dal Lake and Srinagar ka.

Kashmir mai idhar udhar cabs jo package ke saat book ki hongi wo hai.

Theak snow padi to Gulmarg mai maza ayega Skiing mai.

I think winter mai Thajwas Glacier ki taraf jana mushkil hogi.

Can't u do a night stay at Pahalgam and Gulmarg? Wo theak hoga. Otherwise day short hota hai Pahalgam is very far from Srinagar.

Winter mai hotels packed rehte hain usually. I have a friend he probably works as Travel Agent. I'll send you his number, if you need any help in booking.

Hope you must have taken care of postpaid plan/other such requisite since there wouldn't be any signals on the regular prepaid one!

Patnitop is good place near Katra. But have a backup plan as you cannot predict the weather there. If its snows u cant go anywhere. So carefully plan.

Harissa b try karna Chai Jaai Cafe pe wo Lal Chowk Bund side mai hai, wo Jehlum ke bund side pe hai, badiya location. Raj Bagh mai bohot restaurants hain and Wooden bridge there is abuzz.

For Jan and Feb which places are good to visit in India for some activities and nature sight seeings?

Thinking of Sikkim / Kerala (for surfing)
