So yes, I travel more than a few times yearly (within India). My hotel strategy is like this:Have you made any bookings with Accor/Marriott? Want to know your experience.
Accor: I don't have any elite status with Accor. It is just classic membership. I am not very eager to catch up on the elite status.
But Accor time to time rolls out some fast track offers where we can register and move to higher levels if required.
Also Accor comes up with some offer period where if we book during that period, there is additional discounts.
So I usually book Ibis rooms whenever I go for work related travel.
Recently I have booked Ibis kolkata for next month and it costed 10k points for 3 nights.
Other than that, I plan to use Novotel or higher for family trip (if and when I travel with parents or family)
Marriott: I have silver elite status due to HDFC card + 1 FNA.
I get Marriott points from different sources - flipkart supercoins, amex card, hdfc mariott card spends etc.
Similar to Accor, if I travel for work and if I see any less costlier option, I will choose Marriott.
So far, I have not used or stayed in Marriott. But again, reserving the points in case if I travel with family for vacation.
And like everyone knows, it is costly and for 2-3 rooms for 2-3 nights itself will cost nearly a lakh.
So it will take 1-2 years to collect so much points and then book or plan a stay.
Ginger: Cheapest option from Tata, easy to book using Neu app and use Neu coins.
Taj: Will wait for the voucher and do for a vacation if possible, nothing planned yet.
