How to keep Indian Sim active after moving abroad?

Hi all,

I wanted to understand the best way to keep my Indian number active. I am moving abroad and will come to India for a few days every year. I currently saw the airtel international pack of 15000 per year. I use an airtel black postpaid connection currently.

If anyone has an experience in this or can recommend the best possible way to keep the connection active, that will be of great help.

Just take 299/- plan. Keep paying the rent every month. Switch off the phone when you are taking flight from India and switch on when you land in India. Will cost you only 4000 a year

You can also activate International roaming and keep data roaming off. Don't call anyone and don't pick a call. There will be no additional charges except rent. This way you can get OTP messages as well

Although that works, you can instead get a 1799 plan for a whole year! (And save a hopping 2200 rupees in the process) 🙂
