How to make HDFC CC Upgrade Lifetime Free

I was using HDFC MoneyBack(Ltf) credit card since Nov'20 and recently (March,22) got upgraded to MoneyBack+ credit card. They said it will only be First Year Free and will be chargerable for 2nd year onwards. My query is how to make it LTF again? I called them and they said you need to register SmartPay which should be billed monthly for 3 consecutive months but I only have a LIC insurance on my name which is billed half yearly. Is there any way to make it Lifetime free?

Register a few billers, they maybe postpaid Mobile connections, DTH, landline bills. You can check the list from the smartbuy portal. A few months later, you may drop them an email requesting them to make it LTF for you.

HDFC Bank Credit cards can easily converted to LTF by spending x required amount before 90 days of card activation (even works for upgraded credit card too) hence failed to spend you can take an add on credit card on behalf of your primary credit card or add any utility bills to your smart pay account.(bills need to be auto debit every month otherwise card again become chargeable one)
