Yes you can.
I did not even have to raise cancellation request. I hold multiple cards from SBI, I called Customer Care and requested LTF.

They converted without any further questions



If you want to convert, I would advise convert it to OCTANE, use for an year and then try the trick

Can we convert octane also to LTF? I thought this trick was only for 500 fee cards? @metal_heart

I am not sure, but SBI is now more welcoming on conversion to LTF

I doubt SBI will make cards with more than 500 fee as LTF.

I got call they said we cant convert it to LTF you have to call every year to reverse the annual charge

Via SbiCard app. Select reason as Annual Fee related. You will receive call ask them for LTF conversion. Only valid for SBI Simply Click Credit card.

I have some confidence over this thing that SBI will reverse the annual charge but will not make LTF. The retention team is smart when you give closure request.

As per my knowledge, sbi doesn't give ltf cards.

I have an SBI LTF card, which I am using for the last 14 years, after the first 9 years of use they made it as LTF.

But I agree SBI doesn't give the card as LTF easily.

500 fee cards can be easily converted to LTF if you've used for atleast 2 years

I have IRCTC SBI CC since Sep 2020. Placed closure request around 2pm today. Got a call in a few seconds, executive reversed annual fees and made IRCTC LTF. I wanted to swap this card with other but he said this card cannot be upgraded or downgraded.

300+GST. Used only twice or thrice for <Rs.500 last year. Shifted spends to SimplyClick since an year after getting it.
