Axis Atlas How to pay local vendors without POS machine?

nikhilk21

TF Select
I have a function in the family for which we're hiring a photographer and decorator and the total bill will come to ~80k. They don't have a swipe machine and accept only UPI/NEFT. Is there any way to use my Atlas card? I know wallet loads are useless, but if there's any hack here, please share. I don't want to let this payment go waste

Except quashy cash trxns, nothing else.

Utility, Rent, Education, Wallet.

These guys generally don't accept any form of payment except cash. Their UPI will most likely be linked to a personal account. Make a small test payment to confirm whether they accept Rupay CC.

Why don't you ask him.. He will have few frnds in his circle who will be using POS machine.. Inform him you have only card. He will help you bec uska business bhi hai.. If you have to pay 2%.add charge then negotiate with him else pay.. Still you will gain 2% from atlas and will take you closer to your milestone..

He might not care about the mdr charges because he is providing services instead of products

Use tricks like tide card etc, add to tode with 2.5 charges then to apps like omni with 2.67 charges but you will get 3.5 cashback and if you get any cashback on bill payment then your overall charges will be around 1 percent

While on a walk, I found a poster stuck to a lamp post saying credit card to cash @1.8%. I contacted them and did a test transaction and the MCC is 4784 which comes under Travel category. This seems like a nice technique to bypass exclusion category payments/UPI payments. What do you guys think? Any red flags?

This is very commonly seen on lanes in delhi & noida, but never tried out these as maybe a red flag as they will know your requirements, maybe also they can ask your limit and put a person for keeping an eye on you. We never know the mindset of those people.

Be safe & take precautions before stepping in.

Even if you get those points don’t expect axis won’t claw them back in future. It’s Axis we are talking about.

Don't, peace of mind if far more important

I have heard that these are mostly used for black money rotation
Banks charge 1.8-2 % as mdr charges for a transaction
Assuming they are having some discount for mdr charges, they will be paying atleast 1.3%, you are being charged 1.8% which leaves them with .5% profit
They will need to swipe 20lac rupees in a month to earn 10000 rs, do you really think a legit shopkeeper will have transactions of 20l in their books for 10000 rs ?
