How to separate SBI CC from FD

Found out my sister has SBI CC on FD.

The CC is about 7 years old now.

Sister is Govt employee and can easily get unsecured CC's now.

FD based CC is prime sbi card.

Do I need to get the CC closed or can SBI make this card unsecured(prime one). ??

What is the process, can it be done online or need to visit branch?

Email will do the work. SBI card for cc closure and home branch for FD

No, they ask you to reapply, I also had fb card 4 years ago, they didn't converted my 2 year old secured card so closed it and asked them to remove lein after that I closed my fd.

A person in SBI was trying to sell me FD saying I can get CC on that and once matured BM will make card independent, I asked Cashback CC he said not possible else I would have been tricked 🥲

Misselling, as you will not store the person contact for 3 or more years and when after maturity you ask them they will say you do the steps and procedure that is followed.

Know the basics dear.

SBI holds the deposit, pays interest - like it's own deposits. And, gives the needed guarantee to SBICards to issue the card - upto the time of holding the deposit n upto the agreed value.

SBICard issues the card.

Secured cards are rarely converted into unsecured one. First take any unsecured one. Then only go for closure if you really want to close it. If you want to close your FD you need to close your secured card first.
