HPCL Coral now will give cashback after swiping on all machines

In an surprising move where all the banks are doing devaluation of their CCs, ICICI has enhanced their HPCL Coral card.

Earlier the 2.5% cashback was only on ICICI Bank swipe machines at HPCL petrol pumps. The card was basically useless given no one will be asking the attendants each and every time if the swipe machine is of ICICI Bank or some other bank. Also attendants don't have that much of time to check/use specific machines. So this is a welcome move by ICICI allowing the cashback after swiping at any machine.

I mean it should have been the case from the start, but better late than never. I was about to close the card because I upgraded to Rubyx and this card was useless because of very specific conditions for cashback. But now I guess it will be somewhat useful.

2.5% cashback Up to ₹ 100 Cashback on fuel purchases at HPCL pumps month on month, year on year can be availed when the Card is swiped on ICICI Merchant Services swipe machines. (minimum transaction value of ₹500.) [means MAX 4k bill per month can be paid using HPCL]

Same with me bro, I filled from HPCL using eazyzapp by ICICI POS, no cashback posted.

I did (27/05) for 2500 on Hpcl using non Icici POS machine with Icici HPCL visa card.. including surcharge it deducted 2529.5
Received 63.24 to credit card account. showing in the credit card bill (15/06/2024).
Transaction name for cashback in statement as Cashback@ HPCL Fuel Purchases
There will not be any surcharge waiver as I did not do on Icici machine.. also there will not be any rewards as we are getting cashback for fuel transactions.

Also I did Non Hpcl transaction for 1500. It deducted 1515 including surcharge. No Rewards.. no surcharge waiver.. no cashback..

Does the cashback and surcharge waiver work if we pay using NFC at HPCL pumps?

I don't see any problem as you are paying directly from the card itself whether it is by tapping, inserting in machine or by phone using NFC.

So did get 1 % surcharge waiver with GST on an HPCL pump with ICICI POS. 2.5 % cashback yet to be credited though.

Same here, I tapped on a Fiserv machine on Thursday and today I'm seeing the Surcharge and GST reversed transactions. Any idea on how long it would take to credit the 2.5% cashback?

HPCL Super Saver Card is not giving cashbacks. Forget about cashbacks, it is not giving surcharge waivers also. I have purchased petrol at three near by HPCL Petrol pumps till now. No surcharge and no cashback were given. When I mailed them, they were telling that the petrol pump/POS Machine was not eligilble for cashback and surcharges. But the MITC says that, cashbacks and surcharges can be earned on any POS machine and not restricted to ICICI POS Machine. With this I stopped using this card now.

Because I was getting incorrect reversal and cashback on my card and I got this response from the bank.
They are still saying the cashback and surcharge reversal is only if card is swiped on ICICI machine at HPCL pumps.

Extra weird that I got cashback for 2 transactions but surcharge reversal for only 1 transaction.


Would you be willing to give me the screenshot of the email you posted with the senders email visible so that I can shove it in their face when they say the same thing in the next reply?

Aren't they talking about surcharge reversal only?

The OP never claimed surcharge was being reversed for non-ICICI machine swipes, only that cashback will be provided.

Here you go. The email mentions only about the cashback so not sure about surcharge.
