HSBC Live+ Credit Card Review | HSBC Cashback Credit Card Rebranded

Editor’s note: This is a recurring post, regularly updated with new information and offers. Last Updated 15th July, 2024.
HSBC revamped their Cashback Credit Card back in December 2023, and I would say it stood out as an exception in a season of brutal devaluations. Since earning points for travel is becoming increasingly difficult, many people are shifting to cashback credit cards to enhance their value back. Now, in July 2024, they have just rebranded their Cashback Credit Card as the Live+ Credit Card with a fresh design. In terms of benefits, nothing has actually changed.

Here's a quick review of this great credit card from HSBC Bank!

HSBC Bank is currently only offering their credit cards to salaried individuals that too very strictly. If you are a self-employed individual then you may try your luck by opening a premium bank account against a huge NRV.

TechnoFino Recommends

After the revaluation of the HSBC Cashback Credit Card back in December 2023, it became one of the best cashback cards for offline and online dining and grocery spends. The recent rebranding is just a name change to the Live+ Credit Card, but nothing has changed in terms of benefits. This is a simple, no-nonsense cashback card from HSBC Bank that caters to both groceries and dining at a flat 10% rate, which I would say is unprecedented. Earlier, Kotak was offering similar cashback on their Essentia and Delight Credit Cards with some conditions, but these have now been discontinued.

If you are looking for a great multi-utility card for all your grocery and dining spending then this card should be there in your wallet! Not to worry about the fees since in festive time reaching that upper cap on 10% cashback even for just one time will make your card free virtually for the year. This card is in direct competition with the HDFC Swiggy card now.

Does "grofers india private" give 10% cashback? I bought a gift voucher in blinkit using my hsbc live+ credit card

Can someone please confirm the MCC code for Dmart merchant name - AVENUE SUPERMARTS LTD D BANGALORE.
First time I shopped in Dmart using Live+ card, so I have no idea. Also too lazy to call CC now.

Is anyone using HSBC Credit Card on Google Pay for Tap & Pay?

I actually recently changed my phone and forgot to remove the card from google pay manually before factory resetting it. Now I am not able to add the same card on new phone in same google account also I tried to add the card on same google account on the same old phone to remove it but no luck.

Can anyone help me how can I re use the card for tap & pay? HSBC Phone Banking customer care is just not understanding my concern they are misinterpreting that for BBPS Transition and telling me I cannot add my card from google pay, cred etc and just not trying to understand.
Were you able to find a solution for this? I am stuck in the same boat as my mobile motherboard was replaced and now I am unable to link my Live+ card to Google Pay.

Nope till date no solution. Have approached Google Pay support and they asked me to connect HSBC and HSBC Customer Care isn't able to understand my issue. If I raise it to grievance they tell that it isn't a grievance and customer care would be able to help.

So no solution except blocking and replacing the card to get new card generated.

Thanks. The support contact was clueless as you mentioned, and was insisting that this facility is stopped by HSBC. However, he suggested dropping an email to backend teams, so I have done that. Else I will replace the card itself.

Did he provide you any particular backend team email address? If yes please provide I would also try again.

some cc to bank apps are considered as utility and this is also considered in hsbc. I got 2000 on my platinum card for 20000 spends. although i used the card for genuine spends but you can also use those apps if you do not have any genuine spends to do.
Which app did you use & are you sure hsbc won't consider ineligible as manufactured spend?
