Icici bank calling to verify debit card transactions?

I have done transaction of 7k through my debit card. This is the first time I have saw any bank contacting customers to verify transaction over ivr.?

No offline last year in july. But the person who opened my account used a tab to open. I have done transaction earlier but there was no call verification

I mean to whom you have send the money for transaction... Cause if they are fishy then bank some times ask for confirmation before clearing

I paid my credit card bill via mobikwik using my debit card

When you do transactions out of your normal pattern they will call you. Also, transactions of big amounts or transactions during odd hours can cause this. I have received such calls from HDFC, ICICI, and IDFC in the past. In the case of IDFC, it's a robocall.

Yes, same happened to me with HDFC and ICICI few times

I paid my credit card bill via mobikwik using my debit card

Tnxs on Mobikwik are detected as suspicious by many banks, including Axis & SBI as well

Ohh okay. Is there any other way to pay my cc bill using my debit card. Paytm is there but my dc is not supported on paytm. Also banks offical site to pay cc bill don't have debit card option if they have it is only rupay. I have master card

Yes, same happened to me with HDFC and ICICI few times

First time when I added 5 credit cards in my app for hdfc bill pay I got call from their back office asking whether all cards belong to my name lol

They even do confirmation on upi transaction.... 1st time I couldn't understand and didn't pick the call... My upi id was blocked instantly... Then I had to call customer care and get it unblocked
