ICICI Bank iShop Accelerated Reward Points Portal Launched - Upto 36% Reward Rate 🔥

As promised by ICICI Bank at the time of launching the Emeralde Private Metal Card and Times Black Card, they have introduced their Accelerated Rewards Portal, iShop by ICICI Bank. Through this portal, ICICI Bank cardholders can earn accelerated rewards when purchasing gift vouchers, booking flights, and reserving hotels.

The portal is similar to HDFC Bank’s SmartBuy for HDFC customers. However, ICICI Bank also offers accelerated rewards to its debit card and net banking customers, even if they don't have an ICICI credit card. The portal appears to be in beta testing, as ICICI Bank has added a "Beta" tag to the iShop logo. So, expect changes in rules and capping.

Let's dive into the details of this portal!

Reward Earning on iShop Portal

Credit Cards & Debit Cards:
  • 6X Reward Points on Flight Bookings & Shopping Vouchers
  • 12X Reward Points on Hotels
  • 4% Cashback for co-branded ICICI cards
Net Banking Customers:
  • 3% iCash on Flight Bookings
  • 6% iCash on Hotels
  • NA% iCash on Shopping Vouchers

Redemption on iShop Portal

You can redeem your credit card reward points on the iShop portal.

The value of credit and debit card reward points depends on the card you hold. For example, with the ICICI Bank Emeralde Private Metal Credit Card, 1 reward point = ₹1.

Redemption Options:

  • Flight Booking: You can pay 100% of the order value using reward points.
  • Hotel Booking: You can pay 90% of the order value using reward points, and the remaining 10% must be paid using the same credit card.
  • Shopping Vouchers: You can pay 50% of the order value using reward points, with the rest paid via card.

For Net Banking Customers:

  • Instead of reward points, Net Banking Customers receive iCash from iShop (1 iCash = ₹1).
  • For flights, hotels, and gift vouchers, you can use a maximum of 80% iCash, and the remaining 20% must be paid via net banking.

This is an amazing launch from ICICI Bank. ICICI Bank has often been tagged as a low-rewarding credit card issuer, but with this portal launch, customers can now earn significant bonus reward points using their ICICI Bank credit cards. This is a great way to revamp the bank's credit card portfolio.

One key expectation from ICICI Bank is that they should enter the airmiles game as soon as possible. According to some sources, they are already working on it. They are also aiming to launch a hotel co-branded credit card soon.

What’s are the benefits of upgrading to Wealth or Private
Your icici netbanking website interface changes, usually you get a private debit card but i didn't end up getting one. No difference tbh i asked my RM between my private account and wealth he said no difference just a better Rm.

Looks like not much of a difference, just more investment calls

Does having an icici Emeralde credit card also upgrade you to private banking? I have an icici Emeralde credit card, but no account in the bank, and I want to try for the Emeralde Private Metal Card. Also, second question, if I spend in the Emeralde card that I have, will icici offer Emeralde Private as pre-approved? Does icici even offer Emeralde Private as pre-approved for Emeralde card holders?
Having a normal Emeralde card does not upgrade your account to private banking. I took it, used it for two months continuously, and then closed it. The card is not great, and the account does not get upgraded either.

With an Emeralde card, your normal account gets upgraded to a Maximum Privilege account at best, which also happens if you take a Rubyx card—so there’s no real benefit. However, if you use the Emeralde card well for a year and achieve a ₹15 lakh spending milestone, there is a possibility that you might get a pre-approved Emeralde Private Metal Edition card next year. But this depends on your overall relationship with the bank; just spending on a single card does not guarantee an upgrade to the Metal Edition.

It’s better to go for the Times Black credit card instead, as at least it gives you good returns on your spending. Everything else depends on luck. The chances of getting an upgrade to the Emeralde Private Metal Credit Card are higher for Times Black cardholders compared to those with a normal Emeralde card.

With wealth the customer care people of better quality are deputed.
With Private I am not sure of any additional benefit.
May be the private RM is more dedicated and he extends services like buying vegetables and grocery for home.

:man-shrugging:

@Sobirvs @Dr.Anand456 have experience of Private banking.
I have already explained private banking in several posts and comments. Please read my previous comments in this thread—anyone looking for clarity will find the answers there.

Anyone tried upgrading from sapphiro to EPM? I have limit of 15L on sapphiro but no other relationship with ICICI. I do have infinia if that helps in anysense if they do C2C basis

Your chances are high. Probably there is already a upgrade offer which you may not be aware. Try to figure out.
I upgraded from apay to EPM. Had 15 lacs limit and spends were also high.
Infinia may not help.

This is a starting hick-up. This 90 days would go off soon.
ICICI is known for its technology, whereby settling transaction and delivering rewards points happens super-fast. Sometimes doesnt even take a day.
Thats my experience too.
You seem too optimistic. Has your experience with icici been that good?

15L limit does help but won’t help in epm approval if the salary/itr condition is not met. If you salary >3 lpm or you are self employed and have an itr> 40 lakh than there high chances of approval

Yes Bhai. For over 10 years used services of icici bank only. Got everything from them. Locker, EPM, lowest interest on loans, highly discounted insurance policies… everything. Without asking mostly.

But now started relationship with hdfc also. They are also good.
