ICICI Bank iShop Accelerated Reward Points Portal Launched - Upto 36% Reward Rate 🔥

As promised by ICICI Bank at the time of launching the Emeralde Private Metal Card and Times Black Card, they have introduced their Accelerated Rewards Portal, iShop by ICICI Bank. Through this portal, ICICI Bank cardholders can earn accelerated rewards when purchasing gift vouchers, booking flights, and reserving hotels.

The portal is similar to HDFC Bank’s SmartBuy for HDFC customers. However, ICICI Bank also offers accelerated rewards to its debit card and net banking customers, even if they don't have an ICICI credit card. The portal appears to be in beta testing, as ICICI Bank has added a "Beta" tag to the iShop logo. So, expect changes in rules and capping.

Let's dive into the details of this portal!

Reward Earning on iShop Portal

Credit Cards & Debit Cards:
  • 6X Reward Points on Flight Bookings & Shopping Vouchers
  • 12X Reward Points on Hotels
  • 4% Cashback for co-branded ICICI cards
Net Banking Customers:
  • 3% iCash on Flight Bookings
  • 6% iCash on Hotels
  • NA% iCash on Shopping Vouchers

Redemption on iShop Portal

You can redeem your credit card reward points on the iShop portal.

The value of credit and debit card reward points depends on the card you hold. For example, with the ICICI Bank Emeralde Private Metal Credit Card, 1 reward point = â‚ą1.

Redemption Options:

  • Flight Booking: You can pay 100% of the order value using reward points.
  • Hotel Booking: You can pay 90% of the order value using reward points, and the remaining 10% must be paid using the same credit card.
  • Shopping Vouchers: You can pay 50% of the order value using reward points, with the rest paid via card.

For Net Banking Customers:

  • Instead of reward points, Net Banking Customers receive iCash from iShop (1 iCash = â‚ą1).
  • For flights, hotels, and gift vouchers, you can use a maximum of 80% iCash, and the remaining 20% must be paid via net banking.

This is an amazing launch from ICICI Bank. ICICI Bank has often been tagged as a low-rewarding credit card issuer, but with this portal launch, customers can now earn significant bonus reward points using their ICICI Bank credit cards. This is a great way to revamp the bank's credit card portfolio.

One key expectation from ICICI Bank is that they should enter the airmiles game as soon as possible. According to some sources, they are already working on it. They are also aiming to launch a hotel co-branded credit card soon.

I have always connected to HDFC CC via their premium line, just press 1 and you are directly connected. Found it super easy and executives relatively knowledgeable. I’m facing this issue with ICICI, connecting to their CC takes longer and moreover fininding their customer execs clueless about most of the things.
Have started using their app and Cc more often, hope to have a good experience with ICICI if not great.
icici private is actually better a few rings and directly connected

It is always direct line with premium banking for all banks

I have Hdfc imperia, Icici wealth and Axis Burgundy. All connect directly to a customer care executive in seconds.
Since you have experience of premium banking with all the 3.
which one of these would be best on following paramaters.
  1. Customer care on phone banking
  2. RM
  3. When we visit the branch.

The theme and colors of the ICICI iMobile app have changed again with the latest update. Has anyone else noticed this? Have other users also experienced this change in their iMobile app after updating? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
I have app version 23.2.
When version update happened, then the orange colour got little brighter.
Didn't notice anything else.

I have felt hdfc’s customer care to be pretty good. Like agents had correct knowledge of cards, features, exact limits etc. Difficult to compare against others though, as I havent called Icici and axis customer care that much.

RMs are pushy for every bank, you need to tell them you are not interested a bunch of times.

Can’t help here. Haven’t visited any of the three bank branches.

Even though when you have Ultra Premium cards from ICICI bank (EPM, TB), the customer care phone line is not dedicated, its still a hassle to talk to them and their knowledge of cards and their services are pretty bad, they just have basic entry level knowledge that's it. While HDFC care teams are professional and more knowledgeable, they have dedicated ultra premium line for the Ultra premium card customers.

Right. This is a good feature of hdfc. Irrespective of banking type they have dedicated customer care for dcb and infinia

Having a normal Emeralde card does not upgrade your account to private banking. I took it, used it for two months continuously, and then closed it. The card is not great, and the account does not get upgraded either.

With an Emeralde card, your normal account gets upgraded to a Maximum Privilege account at best, which also happens if you take a Rubyx card—so there’s no real benefit. However, if you use the Emeralde card well for a year and achieve a ₹15 lakh spending milestone, there is a possibility that you might get a pre-approved Emeralde Private Metal Edition card next year. But this depends on your overall relationship with the bank; just spending on a single card does not guarantee an upgrade to the Metal Edition.

It’s better to go for the Times Black credit card instead, as at least it gives you good returns on your spending. Everything else depends on luck. The chances of getting an upgrade to the Emeralde Private Metal Credit Card are higher for Times Black cardholders compared to those with a normal Emeralde card.
As soon as I took the Emeralde Credit Card (upgrade from Sapphiro credit card) in November 2024, my ICICI internet banking background screen/interface turrned black-metallic in colour and the logo of ICICI bank in the top left began showing "wealth management". Does this mean that they have upgraded me to a wealth management account? If so, if I continue using the Emeralde credit card, can I expect a pre-approved offer for the Emeralde Private Metal Credit Card in a few months if I reach the annual fee waiver limit in my present Emeralde Credit Card?

There are chances but it’s not certain that you would have it. Its approval is more inconsistent than Infinia.

Take Amazon Pay CC , it has dedicated phone line that connects to an agent within seconds.

Yes. You are thinking right.

First of all do you have other relationship or salary being credited.

If your usage is high on emeralde card and salary credited is above 3 lacs, then there are chances of upgrade to EPM. But why would you spend a lot on emeralde card, that you need to think.
