ICICI Bank iShop Accelerated Reward Points Portal Launched - Upto 36% Reward Rate 🔥

As promised by ICICI Bank at the time of launching the Emeralde Private Metal Card and Times Black Card, they have introduced their Accelerated Rewards Portal, iShop by ICICI Bank. Through this portal, ICICI Bank cardholders can earn accelerated rewards when purchasing gift vouchers, booking flights, and reserving hotels.

The portal is similar to HDFC Bank’s SmartBuy for HDFC customers. However, ICICI Bank also offers accelerated rewards to its debit card and net banking customers, even if they don't have an ICICI credit card. The portal appears to be in beta testing, as ICICI Bank has added a "Beta" tag to the iShop logo. So, expect changes in rules and capping.

Let's dive into the details of this portal!

Reward Earning on iShop Portal

Credit Cards & Debit Cards:
  • 6X Reward Points on Flight Bookings & Shopping Vouchers
  • 12X Reward Points on Hotels
  • 4% Cashback for co-branded ICICI cards
Net Banking Customers:
  • 3% iCash on Flight Bookings
  • 6% iCash on Hotels
  • NA% iCash on Shopping Vouchers

Redemption on iShop Portal

You can redeem your credit card reward points on the iShop portal.

The value of credit and debit card reward points depends on the card you hold. For example, with the ICICI Bank Emeralde Private Metal Credit Card, 1 reward point = ₹1.

Redemption Options:

  • Flight Booking: You can pay 100% of the order value using reward points.
  • Hotel Booking: You can pay 90% of the order value using reward points, and the remaining 10% must be paid using the same credit card.
  • Shopping Vouchers: You can pay 50% of the order value using reward points, with the rest paid via card.

For Net Banking Customers:

  • Instead of reward points, Net Banking Customers receive iCash from iShop (1 iCash = ₹1).
  • For flights, hotels, and gift vouchers, you can use a maximum of 80% iCash, and the remaining 20% must be paid via net banking.

This is an amazing launch from ICICI Bank. ICICI Bank has often been tagged as a low-rewarding credit card issuer, but with this portal launch, customers can now earn significant bonus reward points using their ICICI Bank credit cards. This is a great way to revamp the bank's credit card portfolio.

One key expectation from ICICI Bank is that they should enter the airmiles game as soon as possible. According to some sources, they are already working on it. They are also aiming to launch a hotel co-branded credit card soon.

In earned during the month, there are a couple of transactions for which the points were credited for me so you need to consider Apr transactions too but which transactions that would be anyone’s guess.

The transaction of April that have been added to 'earned during the month', are they the ones on 1st and 2nd April included in the bill generated on 2nd April.

Yes, that’s what I figured too.
@theXfactor
So basically the 'Opening Balance' is reward points of previous month cycle which have been transferred to card account. E.g. 3rd Feb to 2nd March.
And 'Earned during the month' are the reward points of last cycle that are yet to be transferred to the card account. E.g. 3rd March to 2nd April.
Ideally it should be current billing cycle, but with ICICI holding back reward points, the process seems to be going delayed.

My bill got generated on 8th April and I wrote to customer care on 9th April, that I have not received reward points in the last 2 months... they credited the points on 10th April to 'Earned during the month' (including base + accelerated). And these points were upto transactions of 8th April, included in the bill generated.
Since then I have done few more transactions (both within and outside iShop). Lets see when they start showing up in 'Earned during the month'.

The confusion was extra 504 points that I had received. Probably these extra points are for some old promotion where rewards are given after few months.

What’s the email id of the credit card team where you emailed them? Just in case rewards are not credited, I should keep it handy.

Did you get it sorted?

No.
The opening balance are the points that have been added to my pre-existing reward points.
What is showing in ‘Earned during the month’ is yet to be transferred to reward portal.
For more clarity:
Pre-existing reward points : 6845
Transferred to my rewards: 7284 (this number is showing in opening balance).

Total points now available in iMobile/ishop 14129 (which is total of above).

Showing in ‘Earned during the month’ - 15198. These are the points yet to be transferred on iMobile/iShop.

I am a bit confused
So until last month the Earned during the month = 3600 (which is expected)
Only 600 transitioned to the account (the ones I can see in iShop/rewards portal)

This month the earned during this month shows 4950. Does this include the earlier 3000? (Since only 600 were transferred)?
Or its a completely new set of reward points?

When was your billl generated. Ideally all earned during the month should be transitioned, within 2-3 days of bill generation.

It is complicated to look at net banking CVV path.
Probably Professor @theXfactor would be able to guide more on this.

I'm still seeing 0 points in ICICI Rewards section 🙁. I think, since you are able to see points on both the places, CVV card details & rewards section, you should be able to guide. I was simply trying to make some sense from the points I'm able to see on card details.

Bhai, The problem is ICICI holding points manually and transitioning on request.
So no logic may work right now. We have to keep a watch on how points move to better understand it.

Just had a chat with customer care to understand the 4 sections of CVV. He also was not clear on this.

Bill was generated on 25th March. It had 600 reward points, which were transitioned only on request. It was not done automatically (even after waiting for 5 days), I had to send an email and they told it will be done in a day or two.

Its quite confusing, maybe I will wait for April bill to be generated as well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

For now, EPM has a slight edge over Infinia wrt domestic transactions. With this lackluster approach and confusing points transfer, it will go away sooner than later.
