Icici credit card limit confusion

boomboom

TF Buzz
Suppose I have
ICICI Coral Rupay CC ,
ICICI MMT CC both with shared limit 30k & ICICI Apay CC with separate 30k limit.
This can be assured from IMobile app.

Now , I have
spent 2k on Apay CC &
spent 25k on Coral CC

Now in IMobile
for apay cc available limit shows 28k
For coral cc available limit shows 5k

But when I check available limit of coral rupay cc via any UPI app ,
it shows total due is 27k (they probably merge both spends 2k+25k=27k.) instead of actual 25k
& available limit is only 3k instead of actual 5k.

Same issue are showing in email alerts by icici showing only 3k available limit.

Is it true?
I am sure both apay & coral cc are separate limit , not shared limit as it is showing clearly in IMobile. Only MMT & coral are shared limit.
Can I really use 30k limit in each separate card for apay & coral cc or is it both shared limit?

Your total limit is 30k. After 30k spend you can't able make transaction further.

You put in two tanker both of 100 litre carrying capacity.

You can flow 25 litre from one tank tap & 75 from other ..

Or 100 l from one

What you have is 30K shared pool of CL across all 3 cards...

whichever card you use , it will be deducted from the common shared CL...
At each card level it may show its individual available limit .. but if you have used up some more limit from another CC, it will be reduced overall...

So, available balance in the SMS and email alert you get after each transaction from any card is the correct balance CL...

Illustrative example from ICICI regarding how CL works..

Which variant of the card shows up like this?

@Farhad sekh @s1t2y3a3m6 @Vasuki @SSV kudos to all of you guys. Completely understood now that in this case my actual limit is 30k max (not total 30k*2) for all 3 cards irrespective of credit cards & their erroneous analytics in app/site. This means icici tech team is too lazy to make better analytics for their credit cards in iMobile & website. Just SMS & email are perfect . 😂

Exactly. I don't understand why it's so difficult to show the accurate available limit for shared limit cards.

Even Axis had the same issue a few months ago, but they have fixed it.

Also icici doesn't even show total amount due in iMobile app but shows total outstanding. But total amount due is important data. You can find total amount due only in their net banking portal. Joker bank of big 3 . Icici first introduced netbanking in India in 1998. But their their technology & their engineers are still living in that age with strong belief on their grandfather's coding.

@SSV suppose I have spent all my credit limit. If I do one more transaction of 1k what will happen ? Do icici charge over limit fees or just decline the transaction?

I think we can't prepay extra first and increase credit limit.

Is that allowed anymore?
.
I definitley know that , it will allow to prepay and the available CL gets adjusted, but not sure about spending in excess of granted CL within the statement period.. I haven't checked this recently because my limit it 7.7L..
Only lower limit customers can validate.

Spending more than the granted credit limit within a statement period is usually allowed by all banks but not suggested, as there's a high chance of the bank flagging your account as commercial spends.
