ICICI RuPay Platinum Debit Card Problem: Do Not Work At All ICICI CDM/CAM due to Software Issues

Hi,

Sharing an instance with you all that happened with one of my friend today when he went to ICICI Bank branch in New Delhi to deposit cash and found out that his RuPay Platinum Debit Card is actually the problem that CDM (Cash Deposit Machine) or CAM (Cash Acceptor Machine) isn't able to read it and shows as Invalid Card. First he though it was technical issue but retrying didn't helped. Branch employees couldn't help either as never they got any customer before with a Rupay variant or others may not have think of it as a bigger issue.

While other people with VISA/Master variant were not having this Invalid card problem and were able to use their card at CDM/CAM, he and one other person there also having same RuPay Platinum variant faced the same issue (He inserted his card on my friend's request just to make sure his card is not damaged). Other machine which was not a CDM but a CWM only were not giving any issue and everything was fine.

Anyways, he came back and shared thing with me and I mostly am aware of such things but it was new for me aswell as I have never used my own ICICI RuPay Platinum card at any CDM/CAM before so don't know about such problem.

I called customer care and they also confirmed that this variant can be used at CWM only and not CDM/CAM. RuPay cards no matter how hard NPCI tries face many issues at bank servers which are not ready for anything. I am ware that RuPay UPI Credit Card at ICICI ATM don't show all features while my other VISA variant shows all faetures and option. So restriction of operations on both RuPay issued DCs/CCs.

Anyways, this is not a big issue and he deposited by punching his account number later via cardless cash deposit but there is a limit of Rs.25000 only as deposit without inserting card and going to Cash Deposit option is taken as Third Party deposit and not Self deposit which has 1 Lakh per month limit.

Those having ICICI Bank Account and RuPay Platinum Variant card as it is the only debit card ICICI issues under RuPay platform, you must keep in mind you can't use it while depositing cash at CDM/CAM.

Thread title will remain same so that people facing such issues can know that RuPay BINs aren't getting accepted at many CDMs. NPCI should approach banks to get it rectified. Master/VISA working from Day 1 when CDM started. Why not NPCI approach banks are get their ground ready to play on? Sab kharcha bank karke Rupay ko promote kare? Waah bhai waah.

Banks ka kam hota hai yeh sab karna.

Problem mindset ka hai. Khud ko he dekhlo tum SBI visa/mastercard promote karte rahete ho jab ki SBI RuPay bhi same reward points dete hai.

Waise he ICICI bank k employees bhi human being hai aur Indian hai. Master/VISA ka kam sab kuch complete karne k baad banks live karte hai and RuPay ka karte he nahi hai pura complete aur live kar dete hai banks.

Thread title bhi tum isiliye nahi change karna chahte taki log mislead ho kar RuPay na le aur Master/VISA le le.

Problem hai ki Indians khud ko badalna nahi chahte hai, tum chahte ho RuPay kharcha kare iske liye jab ki Master/VISA koi karcha nahi kiya aur paise bhi unlogo k pas bahut jada hai.

Indian mindset ki problem hai yeh.

I have never promoted VISA/Master like you do for RuPay mere bhai. Thing is you never accept when Rupay has problem. When those posts were made it was not against Rupay, it was only to alery users so that they won't suffer. Did I lied about it. It was in front of us that Rupay users were not receiving bonus points for months. Also it had MCC issues with many sites.

Moreover when I posted about RPSLLDCASH I just let know the truth but you are so in mad love with a card network that you let go to see the truth yourself. I never work of promotion of VISA/Master it's only that I care for people getting benefit. Like you I never openly ask people to stop using Rupay and use VISA/Master but left it on their own will. Don't always try to make it a Rupay vs VISA fight. You are hell bent on taking it personally every time anyone says anything about Rupay and truth bites you hard and you are weak not to accept it.

Just ignore my post in future if you can't accept the truth. I post about problem against VISA/Master also but at that time you seem satisfied. The way you are going to brag about Rupay people will start taking it as a cheap product just like using Jio sim became a way of cheapness.

Canara bank forget to activate online ecom supported on newly issue BINs:

Just 10 days ago, @Strange told me he got Canara bank RuPay jan dhan debit card but card is not working on e-com transaction. ATM and POS working.

Yesterday, another person told me he got Canara bank RuPay Platinum debit card but card is not working on e-com transaction. ATM and POS working.

Today, another person @Reaper told me he got Canara bank RuPay Classic debit card but card is not working on e-com transaction. ATM and POS working.

Note - e-com online transaction is already activated but...

My point wasn't about the problem you are facing, it was just that when the problem was solved, the post title should have been changed.

That's all. 🤣🤣 And there is no MCC issue, that was just a rare case. I used SBI RuPay and I received reward + virtual bonus rewards. It's a problem with the SBI rewardz system; some transaction bonus reward points don't get credited automatically. Card networks never give a few reward points.

I also posting about RuPay problems.

Canara bank forget to activate online ecom supported on newly issue BINs:

Then what is fight for? I already changed the topic name. Be happy yaar. You have done good for people here but don't go overboard with your RuPay love. We are Indian just like you and want India and Indian products to rule. I have stopped getting bonus with VISA as you may be reading so just posted it.

Closed the SBI VISA VDC now (on Monday) and generated Rupay and will use upcoming offer with it.
