IDFC Debit card

Hello,

I’m planning to get IDFC select/wealth debit card. Currently I don’t have any account with them. Should I open a normal savings account and apply for those cards? I couldn’t find any AMC for those cards in the website… are those tied with particular type of savings accounts?

Is it possible to get any of those cards if I shift my salary account from ICICI to IDFC? I receive around 1.2-1.4L salary per month in hand

What should be the best and the easiest way to grab one of those cards?

Hello. An IDFC branch in delhi has agree to open wealth account for me with 5L initial finding. He also told me I'll have to maintain 5 lakhs (and not 10L) going forward. Has anyone managed to get wealth account with lower funding than 5 lakhs ?

Yes, as it is the last quarter of FY 24-25. They will give you a Select/Wealth Account at a lower IF. After the upgrade, no need to maintain 5L just maintain the normal account MAB either 10K/25K depending on the account variant you opened.

Can I negotiate a lower IF or 5 lakh seems to be the lowest IF they will agree for wealth AC? Also they told me I just need to maintain 5 lakhs going forward and not 10L. Is this possible as lot of posts talk about 10L balance for wealth.

Yes, but you need to wait till Feb mid. To put more pressure.

Thanks for the information. I can easily do IF of 5 lakhs now but I was more worried about the MAB requirement of 5 lakhs going forward. As you said, this is not a strict requirement.

Maybe at this point of time IDFC does not downgrade accounts. Once this bank becomes bigger and more famous, they might become strict with the MAB requirements.
