IDFC downgraded Visa Signature Debit Card to Visa Platinum Debit Card

Earlier IDFC used to give Visa Signature debit card to their account holder maintaining 25K MAB.
Card also had two complimentary lounge access per quarter.

Recently they have changed it to Visa Platinum. Even old customer will get their new card as Visa Platinum on expiry. Also lounge benefits reduced from 2 to now only 1 as well as BOGO on Bookmyshow not available (I guess).

Atleast their 1 lounge access has comprehensive list of lounge .. & not just major City airport

I think this downgradation happened more than a year back... Then I was also informed by my RM that current holders of visa signature will still get 2 lounge/quarter, and only new accounts/issues of visa platinum is eligible for 1/quarter. I think it is true, cause in the 4th quarter of 2023 I used the lounge twice

And Rs 3000 worth vouchers again, free

along with this Visa Signature card

To 0 balance FF Customers.

No benefit remains forever bro

It's all about CAC and LTV and Breakeven time at the end.

On 20 Jan 2025, we called customer care to inquire about the Signature or Platinum debit card while opening a new account.
Customer care said they are providing only the Signature card. But when I went to the branch to open an account for a family member, the bank representative said they no longer provide the Signature card due to numerous complaints, and now only the Platinum card is issued for new accounts.

It's concerning how customer care is providing incorrect information to prospective customers. Let’s see which card they deliver to us.

But im guessing people might have given incorrect information about lounge access, other benifits, and were met with unexpected surprises.

yes, giving wrong information to make new customer. Difference in theory and practical.

But based on overall feedback seen in TF, IDFC is a good bank, not like HDFC, ICICI or Axis. where people will get confused in IVR and it will take 5-7 minute just to speak to some customer care human. thri IDFC customer care connect to human in 10 second, and all are polite, even the bank people were very polite and helpful.

Let's see what is hapening next. i wil update

Just be lil cautious, especially with UPI transactions. It's been observed that accounts generally get triggered & 🥶.
