Just received an email from IDFC, and I have to say - I’m pleasantly surprised. They have upgraded my monthly interest rate from 2.33% p.m. to just 0.71% p.m., effective 15th March 2025 for my Wealth Credit Card.

To put this into perspective, this is way lower than most personal loan rates I’ve seen recently. If you’re someone who occasionally carries a balance or needs short-term liquidity, this kind of rate makes a huge difference.

Not sure what triggered this change, but I’m definitely not complaining! Anyone else seeing similar upgrades from IDFC or other banks? Would love to hear your thoughts!

I already had this card with 9% pa interest since beginning.

unless one is looking for debt, this offer is good to have. plus there is no guarantee, they wont increase the APR once you delay the payment
Well that’s one way of looking. I personally never take anything on EMI and ensure that I make full payment. I’m a firm believer that we should not be buying anything that we generally can’t afford (barring big purchases of course like home etc). Having said that, it’s a great thing for someone who needs it for short term and doesn’t want to get into paper work. As far as increasing the APR rates is concerned I don’t think they would do it without prior notice

Hey, I too got this email last night....
Also, did you notice, the mentioned that, if one wants to stay in 8.5% club, we need to use at least 30% of the credit limit....

So they are offering this to everyone now, but they might have a limited set of ppl who has this 30% or more amount locked in their credit card...

Lets see how this unfolds..!!!

Nowadays I am living on EMIs, The interest rate seems very lucrative. Therefore seeking ur advice.

Is the lower rate only applies to IDFC wealth or other IDFC CC also? I m looking for applying for cc in IDFC.

Thinking about how to proceed. Eligibility may be somewhere between Select and Wealth. If it is only for wealth then would u suggest me to go offline through branch. I don't have any saving ac with them.

From what I have heard it’s not limited to wealth. Basically it applies to all IDFC credit cards. Hope this helps

That’s a valid call-out. Even I saw that in the email and assumed (my bad) that they want folks to stay under the 30% mark. Having said that your point makes sense and probably time will tell.

How old is your card?

Received the same mail with 8.5% APR on Millenia Card

Earlier it was 0.75% and has been further reduced to 0.71% no major difference, yet the new rates are near to Home loan rates 😂

That's damn nice, how frequently do you use your card?
And what's your usual approx statement value?
