I do think it will rebuild itself soon , once the new CEO is appointed, but it will take at least a few quarters to see the visibility of the right direction, until then slow bleeding...

Yeah I dont understand how.....indusind is posting good numbers in key parameters. Even after profit fall it was in great financial health. And they can absorb the blow alright.

How could they make a mistake in derivatives like that? It's like getting 100/100 In math's and then failing in applied physics. They should scrap and rebuild their internal processes from ground up. And I hope they don't have a systemic problem and it's a one off thing. Still will try to keep my indusind balance below 5L just to be safe.

We can not discuss details in public forum. There is a lot which doesn't not meet the eyes.. there is so much unspoken about it behind the scenes...important people probably known what had happened.. probably it just didn't end up as planned and hence had to be declared. I don't know the specifics but can imagine overall what would have happened. It is not pretty for sure.. lets leave it like that...

The important thing is how do they clean up and come with a proper self checking mechanism for future reliable use

That was kindda my point. There may not have been an outright fraud or something but something was planned may be some sort of hedge investment and it didn't go as planned but whatever it was, it should have been disclosed beforehand. No amount of money is worth a bank's reputation and that too of a pioneer private bank.

And what do you think about the CEO? Is he the fall guy or did he create the mess?

I don't know much about CEO apart from what the media recently written about him..He has got good resume, it seems.. but that doesn't guarantee you anything..

Nothing of this much magnitude happens without CEO's knowledge.
If he doesn't know about this ,means he is not a good CEO...
