IndusInd Card closed for non usage without prior notice

Received a SMS yesterday that my IndusInd Rupay Platinum Card is closed due to non-usage for 12 months.

Reading conflicting views whether banks are supposed to give 30 days notice before closing a card for non-usage. I definitely did not receive any prior notice.

I won't miss the card since I was not using it anyways but how do other banks operate? Which banks give prior notice & which banks don't?

I had received sms and calls from ICICI bank informing me about 1 month prior to the closure for non-usage.

Even if you don't miss the card, but you will mill Indusind CC. You cannot apply for any from Indusind without fighting with them.
 
I did the same thing but in the reverse order. They were shocked as well!
Every interaction with customer support had these points in common:
  • It is a cause of concern for us that you have decided to cancel our credit card.
  • We request you to reconsider your decision regarding card cancellation and give us an opportunity to serve you better.

My email to Indusind Pioneer banking is unanswered for months now. They never reply timely to me.
 
FWIW - I also have Indusind Legend besides Indusind Eazydiner. Was planning to close Indusind Rupay anyways so not really bothered by its closure 🙂
