[INFO] Extract additional value for offline : ICICI Amazon Pay CC

ICICI Amazon Pay credit card remains one of the most popular LTF cards. As we all know, it provides 5% cashback for Amazon Pay purchases, 2% for Amazon Pay partner purchases for Amazon Prime members. Amazon Pay Travel also provides very competitive rates on Flights and hotels in partnership with MMT. The rates are often lower than what you get directly on the MMT site.
But it only provides 1% on offline purchases. I would like to share a tip to maximize return on offline purchases by purchasing a Brand Gift voucher. For example in the fashion category, if you are purchasing from Trend or Max, you can purchase a brand gift voucher with 9-12% discount from Amazon Pay branded gift card. This is very useful when they don't offer any discount for "new collection." Gift vouchers can also be purchased for cafes ( like Starbucks etc) with discounts. You also get 2% cash back for this purchase through ICICI Amazon Pay credit card.

Please remember to check with cash counter if they are familiar with redeeming gift cards and will accept the same. After confirmation, you can purchase the nearest floor value in multiple of 100 and pay the rest through any other method.

Even for orders through Zomato etc where the order value is less and you don't see any available card discount, this gives 5% cashback ( 3% direct discount and 2% Amazon pay cashback).
Update 1 : Branded gift voucher can be purchased through any payment instruments. So if you have a CC which will give more than 2% on these purchases, that's even better.
As they say every rupee saved is every rupee earned 🙂

Now a days, Amazon shows ₹399 for one year Prime Shopping edition. Will my Apay ICICI give 5% on purchases if I buy this Shopping only prime or I need to get the full prime edition ₹1499 ?

Being a prime shopping edition member, Amazon Pay ICICI Bank Credit Card will give you just 3% cashback on flight and hotel booking, whereas Amazon Prime membership gives you 5% cashback on flight and hotel booking using the same card.

All Amazon Pay transaction should fetch 2%. Never personally tried that though for Jwellery. Branded gift voucher can also be bought using Amazon Pay gift card balance and that gives 2% for sure. You may fond better discount on Amazon Pay gift card depending on your Cc portfolio.

Because Amazon Pay credit card gives illusion of 5% cashback. In reality we have to purchase Rs 1499 Prime membership to get 5% cashback. Cashback is in the form of Amazon Pay Balance. I have SBI Cashback LTF, Axis Flipkart LTF and HDFC Millennia LTF which serves the purpose and gives real money as cashback.
While that is true, but with that 1499 we also get Amazon prime 1 day delivery and prime movie benefits. I think that is a good reason to keep.
