Hey everyone,
Today, I upgraded my existing BOB Lite Account to a BOB Super Savings Account.
In the BOB World app, the account type has already changed to Super Savings, so the upgrade seems successful.

However, I noticed something strange
In the BOB App Passbook , there are two transactions - one debit and one credit of the same amount, which I didn’t perform myself.

1. Can anyone please confirm if this debit/credit entry is part of the bank’s internal process for upgrading the account?

The main reason I upgraded was to apply for BOB RSDC and BOB EMT Debit Cards.
While applying through the BOB World app (as the option isn’t visible in net banking), these are the card variants shown:

2. Which debit card should I apply for first - the BOB RSDC or the BOB EMT card?

Right now, I have two debit cards linked to my account:
  1. Physical RuPay Platinum Debit Card
  2. Virtual RuPay Platinum Debit Card
I want to permanently close the physical RuPay Platinum card - how can I do that?
And I plan to keep the virtual Platinum card, but before that, could anyone confirm if there are any annual or maintenance charges on this virtual RuPay Platinum card?
If there are charges, I’ll close that one too since it’s not really useful for me.

Any help or guidance from those who recently upgraded or applied for these cards would be appreciated!

1. AC Xfr transactions are done when you change the Account Variant
2. Apply Bhoomi RSDC first then EMT DC

1. When you change account scheme or change your branch, then complete amount in your account is debited from previous scheme or branch and credited to new scheme or branch.
Its completely a normal process


2. Apply RSDC first then EMT

NO changes for virtual card .

To permanently close your physical Rupay Platinum, just block it permanently.
 
Hi guys, I’m planning to open bob super savings account online for rsdc. I’ve gone through the whole thread and had some residual questions

1) Can I choose different communication address than Aadhar while opening online (Canara bank wasn’t letting me do it online)

2) I need to choose no debit card while online opening process and after logging to net/mobile banking I need to choose rsdc, right? Will I be able to login to internet/mobile banking without a debit card or branch visit? (Branch is kinda far)

Any advice for doing VKYC, is it any better than other govt banks (IOB process is so bad)

BOB has one of the smoothest vkyc and online opening process

When I opened BOB Lite Account in BOB via online
No option shown to choose debit card
And by default RPDC delivered

So i think you may get a default debit card in bob

Then via BOB App You can apply for RSDC and EMT
 
I have a super savings account.
Planning to get RSDC and EMT.
What are your suggestions for the third card
I personally didn't have any need for 3rd card so haven't applied for it

But if u need another card of bob then go with visa platinum for Swiggy offers
 
Just for info, has bob outsourced their vkyc process to some agency or the bank staff do it themselves?

Was wondering whether I should start the account opening process today or on a bank working day
