I faced a similar situation during the account opening time of my mother. I told the bank employee to open a Mahila Shakti account, and as soon as I tried to fill in the details of the PAN & Aadhar card, there was no Mahila Shakti account variant option available. The only option was Advantage & some other higher variant. Because the branch people were busy due to customers, I thought, "Let's just go with the advantage account, and later we will convert to Mahila Shakti," to which I asked the bank employee, "Is it possible to change the account variant?" and he replied, "Yes," but I wanted to confirm if someone had really done it or not. I had slight hope because drvirag has done it, but seeing your case, I am assuming it's not going to happen.
