Is the call genuine? (Axis Bank)

Few mins back, I received a call from someone claiming to be from Axis Bank. They said that my card is three months old and therefore there are some offers that need to be unlocked using the mobile application.

Feeling suspicious, I made an excuse that I am facing trouble with my internet connectivity at that point of time and let me know about the offer so I that I can check during free time. The person said that they'll give some branch code and emp id. The person also said that they can do a whatsapp call if there is an issue with the internet (face-palm moment 🤣). I told them that currently I am at a place where there is limited connectivity, so please try again after a few days.

It seems u got the card online without the help of any Axis employee. As per my understanding the person who called you, wants to put his employee id for such card on Axis Bank app. He will get some points from the bank.

It is genuine, they will guide you through the steps in the mobile app. I got my pre-approved Flipkart cc this way last year.
However, they called sometime last week as well since they could see some offers on their end but it was not visible in my app.

Given the number of fraud calls increasing everyday, trust issues are real. 😅

Once your first card is 3 months, you can apply for a second card instantly. But it may or may not be LTF

Possible to apply another card within 3 months?
Yes. Go to "apply now" and then "Credit Cards" in the app or Internet banking. You should find a list of options available to you. Any card you appy has a 99.9% of approval

I also received same call. They also knew my card variant. But when i said if i have limit enhancement then I will get it from app itself then she said no without employee I'd it will not be counted 🤣🤣 i said i will mail your helpline then she cut the call. Fraud 🤥

In my case they did not even know the card variant correctly. These guys can perfectly masquerade as Axis Bank customer care given how dumb Axis Bank customer care is. I have very low expectations from them that these days I am more surprised when they do something actually right.

If you contact Customer care, you can apply for a second card within minutes of getting approved of the first card
Had no idea about it. Though, doesn't look like I'll go for the third as I don't have the strength to deal with Axis Bank's customer care. Took an Axis Bank card only because SBI is even worse in this aspect (tough choice to make 😂).

Same. They always assume that people have Flipkart card. Happened with me.

I guess only online option available for me since it is Airtel Axis. I see this card offered FYF in Airtel Thanks app, the banner showing that the offer is available till 31st Jan only and it's just been 2 months since I got IOCL, So, not sure whether it would be approved if I apply now. Don't want to waste a cibil hit

You will not be able to get just any card. Only the ones that are available for you.

Contact customer care yourself, don't trust these calls, chance of data leak is too high and they are usually not that well informed. If offer is there customer care will tell you and you can apply/don't apply by simply asking and confirming with them.

Fyi, I'm not saying the call you got was fraudulent, I had similar call and through it I got fk axis card ltf, but at that time also I had confirmed by calling customer care.

See in the axis app, when you apply through these guys, app will ask for their ID/reference number as a agent (though which you filled the form), so there are certainly chances of some perks. Another good thing is that in app you see all the offers, LTF or not when you go through agent, they will try to rush you so you can select what they want to sell in haste, but make sure and spend good time there and see all the offers and see what interests you more.
