no it's first year free .you have to pay annual charges rom second year and there is spend based waiver.mark as solution if it helped

I too hold a LTF DCB (Plastic)... Received a similar email today morning.
Infact HDFC has been teasing around this upgrade for sometime now but I am holding out as I don't usually max out my smart buy spends, hence don't really see a great value in upgrading it.

This is First year free. Do dirty tricks here. Usually LTF has - No joining fee, No renewal/annual fee mentioned.
