Yes but already have half a dozen bank accounts now. Dont want too much cognitive load. Thinking of upgrading existing bob account. Their app is also good.

Haan bob mere paas bhi hai & yes app bahat achha hai sbi , pnb se to better hai, but canara aur better hai.
And agar branch mei easily upgrade ho jaye to Bob ka karwalo upgrade

I have a no cost EMI running on my SBI card. The EMI is for a laptop by my friend. Unfortunately , Last week he passed away. Is there any way to cancel the EMI? I think myself need to pay the amount from my pocket right? In that case I would like to pay it without the interest

If it was his credit card tab shayad banks card ki emi ko cancel kar dete par vo tumhare card hai to nahi karenge

Bank to apka hi statement dekhega, although pata nehi ki wo laptop ke invoice pe unka nam hai to sayad kuch ho paye, jiska chance bilkul na ke barabar hai

Death certificate aur invoice pe name and address match ho to shayad bank consider bhi kare vaise to vo bhi nahi karenge

But bank ke hisab se you can not lend your account to someone else.
So think about it. Pata nehi wo isko kaise lenge.
Also aap payment karte rahiye time to time.

Sorry for ur friend's loss, but Banks r very ruthless in these matters. Money is money for them. In this case the responsibility falls on u because it was ur CC. Banks will 100% not help even if shown death certificate. Ur only way out is to either pay it off as a gesture to ur friend, or somehow inform this issue to their parents. They might have received some money from Term insurance (if ur friend had one). U can claim atleast the remaining pricipal from that.
