Also, they make sure the dues are cleared first before accepting a request for changing the billing cycle. They did at least in my case. Wondering how they modified the billing cycle even before dues are cleared.

The Kotak guy messed up here. I requested the billing cycle change and they asked me to clear the outstanding amount which I had already cleared earlier that day. They asked me to wait 1-2 days for the amount to be settled before requesting billing cycle change.
 
TL, DR; Kotak bank is actually Lotak bank. It messed up, and the poor guy paid GST charges for the messup.
to be honest, i would have taken the bank's side in this case, as i would never imagine that the due date would be extended for an ALREADY GENERATED statement. because that would mean getting more than 50 days interest free period.
but good that OP followed up and got the charges reversed (even the GST!).

amex had told my friend that the call recording file got corrupted when he had asked for checking it about a dispute.
 
Or they could've just created policy that billing cycle can be changed only when all dues are paid. No chik Chik no jhik jhik🐊

I Also Changed The Billing Date On My ICICI HPCL & APay Card Both Cards Bill Generating On 20th When I Raise Request For Billing Cycle Changed To 28th

Bhai I didnt understand why he got charges attracted. Can you explain me. I also want to change the same billing cycle date in kotak.
Scared of now after seeing this.
And I Didnt understand.

So the statement date was 25 March, and he had to pay it before the 11th or 12th of April as per the system, but the amount was unpaid, so a new statement was generated on the 25th April mentioning late payment charges.

This guy should have requested a billing date change after April 27th.

Please read previous comments, the customer service rep made a mistake.

Once your statement is generated, clear your outstanding amount within a week, then call customer service to change the billing date and do not use that card until the new billing date is set.
