Hi everyone,

I have just received msg from the bank that my LTF Kotak Royal Signature Card will be changed to Paid version.
Has anyone who own Kotak Card, received this message ?

How can a ltf card can be changed into paid one? Can this be challenged in RBI? I had similar experience with icici platinum card, it was given ltf, but after 5 years, in app it showed needed 50000 to spend in a year for annual fee waiver, this happened last year, this year no such notification, last year i spent more than 50000 on my icici card. My guess is (i may be wrong here) , some cards might be ltf for 5 years. Would like to hear views of other technofino members on this.

Ignore that 50k spend notification
Platinum is a by default ltf card.

Update-
Today I called customer care of Kotak Bank to enquire how they can change a Life Time free card to Paid card, the person said — Sir, it’s applicable to all the LTF holders of Royal Signature credit card. The bank has changed policy for this particular card.
Then I said him to close the card, he politely took the request and closed card. 🥲

Update 2 :-

Today I received call from Retention team, he said - Sir, we are really sorry. Actually that message was meant for paid customers of Royal Signature Card, inadvertently it was sent to all the customers of Royal Signature card.
Further, he mailed me that my card is LTF card and no need to worry about charges. He added you can also upgrade to LTF Kotak Zen Signature Card.
I was not sure at that time should I opt for Kotak Zen Card ?
