List of fuel stations accepting (and not accepting) Amex cards in Hyderabad

Got my Amex card recently (Platinum travel), went to a few fuel stations nearby(in Hyderabad) to see if they accept Amex cards.

Starting this thread to list the fuel stations in Hyderabad which accept and don't accept Amex cards as of May 2024:
- HPCL one beside Lanco Hills Road, Khajaguda (https://maps.app.goo.gl/K9unbRGPfyZvTEwj7): Didn't work on the Paytm POS, worked on ICICI POS
- HPCL one below Gacchibowli flyover (https://maps.app.goo.gl/2QN68MCQCBauorwz8): The guy said they accept Amex and tried the card on a few machines (one was Paytm not sure about the other one), but it didn't work
- HPCL one in Tellapur (https://maps.app.goo.gl/iZQLG4sAnUqcdXuw8): Refilling guy said cashier is not there and their ICICI POS is not working(i.e. might be a temporary issue)
- BPCL one between TCS/IIIT and Gacchibowli Flyover (https://maps.app.goo.gl/bzUwUd3vMcouCvP5A): Didn't accept
- BPCL one in Tellapur (https://maps.app.goo.gl/pBz92r8uT9XEfg868): Didn't accept (Paytm POS)

From this limited data, the patterns that I observed were:
- HPCL pumps: might work
- BPCL: might not work
- ICICI POS: works
- Paytm POS: might not work

Please feel free to add more to this list based on your experiences

yes my side also i faced issue in some petrol bunks
that's why stopped using card, and recharging my fastag and via fastag paying... no issues now

@ME_55 could you please elaborate more? From where do you recharge Fastag using Amex CC and does it incur any additional fee? How do you pay using Fastag?

I would recommend to try private fuel bunks (all players) as well especially at their Paytm and ICICI POS machines. Even if you try at 4-5 places once you should get at least one where it’s accepted.

Otherwise another option is to fuel via ParkPlus voucher at IOCL outlet. You might face some difficulty initially as mostly staff at outlets are not aware but once you make it through (there’s a guide within ParkPlus app as to what to look for in order to redeem the voucher at outlet to assist their staff) further redemptions at that outlet shall be smooth. You’ll also get base rewards on your Plat Travel card (which is not there on direct swipe) apart from saving on fuel surcharge.

2% in the form of ParkPlus wallet balance (upto 150/- per month) also gets credited.

In a fairly conservative scale you’ll be able to net at least 7.7% through this method for Plat Travel.
