Relionrk
TF Neo
I’m reviewing my credit card lineup and could use some input.
Current cards & usage
HDFC MoneyBack+ (paid) – Took this in college because it was the only option. Barely use it now since the reward rate is poor.
Tata Neu Infinity (paid) – UPI spends, Air India flights, Westside, occasional groceries.
Swiggy HDFC (LTF) – Swiggy, Amazon/Flipkart, other online shopping.
Airtel Axis (paid) – Primary for Wi-Fi/mobile bills and BigBasket groceries.
ICICI Sapphiro (LTF) and SBI SimplyClick (paid) – For sale/flight offers.
Spending pattern
Monthly spends: ₹20–30k
Travel: 5–6 domestic flights a year, maybe 1 domestic or international trip. Lounge access is nice to have.
Goal
I want a better HDFC core card since MoneyBack+ is weak. I keep getting an upgrade offer to Regalia Gold FYF (first year free), but I’m hesitant because:
I don’t plan to spend ₹4 lakh annually to get the second year free.
I’d rather avoid an annual fee unless it’s truly worth it.
Questions for the community
1. Should I accept the FYF Regalia Gold and later email HDFC to request a lifetime-free waiver, or just wait for a direct LTF offer (which I hear is rare)?
2. Would converting my HDFC savings account to a salary account improve my chances of getting Regalia Gold LTF? I’m already a Preferred Banking customer.
3. Any other HDFC card you’d recommend for my profile?
Appreciate any insights, especially from those who’ve negotiated LTF upgrades with HDFC.
