I bought a luxe gift card from gyftr (Magnus).
Here was my experience.
1) The activation process described on gyftr and in emails etc is incorrect. They say send ACT <vouchercode> to some number.
It was actually ACT <voucher> <PIN> to the same number. I found out only when I was at the store, in the hope that it could work without activation, and the cashier told me the correct method. Imagine that!
To add insult to injury, the error message when you use the first message directs you to a non-functioning website.
Why the hell do you need activation anyway? I bought the damn voucher, let me use it already, or let the shop guys take care of the activation.
2) The gift card cannot be used on discounted items.
OK, but most items have at least a small discount. And you cannot pay for those.
I even asked the cashier to bill me the full price and let me pay via vouchers, but the system doesn't allow for that.
