But if you want to pay more than 1k, Freecharge will charge 1% transaction fee with GST. So you need to do multiple transactions of upto 1k to pay big amount

Yes, I noticed it. But for this month, I can manage as not having much to pay. But need a method to get 1% from hdfc debit card

I guess you are using iOS app.....try using Android app. It worked for me!!

Don't worry you won't get any reward points for transaction done on Freecharge now using HDFC VP DC. They've patched the MCC.
