Mobile number in permanent blocklist by TRAI

I got a message/mail from my brokage firm and some of my banks that I need to update my mobile number immediately as it is in permanent blocklist by TRAI. No idea why is this happening. My number is working fine. I port out of BSNL for obvious reasons couple of months back, not sure if govt is trying to get back at me (JK!). Anybody else faced any such issue?

Hi! I am facing a similar issue. I got one message in June end and thought it was an issue with just the bank, but then multiple apps started removing my number. How did you solve this issue?
