Mutual Funds SIP returns data

Hi All,
I have been exploring mutual funds and wanted to understand the best parameter to evaluate SIP returns. Here’s my understanding of a few key metrics:

• Absolute Returns – Percentage change in investment value over a specific period.
• CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) / Annualized Return – Percentage change in investment value over a one-year period.
• Rolling Returns – Average return calculated over specific timeframes to assess consistency.

Is my understanding correct?
Which parameter is most suitable for assessing SIP returns? Also, where can we find this data? I checked a few trading apps and Moneycontrol, and they primarily mention CAGR, but I’m unsure if it’s the right metric for SIP evaluation.

Note: I’m a beginner in mutual funds. Would appreciate any insights!

XIRR - Indmoney, it doesn't matter if you invest on that app, it uses CAS report from depositories to load data.

Xirr is for you post ur investment

Xirr is used when the dates for cash flow (in or out, investment or redemption) are not periodical which is normal

I would advise to look into rolling returns before selecting. Looking at CAGR and selecting the best performers last 1y /3y is not i prefer.

And u actual don't need a site , u can do it urself

Further 2 more things:
1. Look at Downside capture and Upside Capture at morningstar (example: https://www.morningstar.in/mutualfu...ikh-flexi-cap-direct-growth/risk-ratings.aspx)

Its basically how much it moves up vs it's benchmark and how much it falls vs it's benchmark

2. Last I would suggest look at Portfolio Turnover ratio in last 3 to 4 factsheets of the fund u r targetting

Portfolio turnover should be excluding equity arbitrage

It shows how much is the fund manager is following what he said/ Funds principles.

Some more tips

• Choose a fund with atleast 5 years in existence
• In index funds choose with lowest (but not negative) Tracking difference and not Tracking error
• Direct Growth plans only if DIY
• Regular Growth if Distributor or Advisor is creating stable alpha
