DCB My Limit Enhancement Experience via C2C - Mission Accomplished 😎

After completing 6 months since the last LE on my HDFC Bank Credit Card, I reached out to HDFC for another LE. Despite the fact I could have got the LE based on ITR easily, I still wanted to try the C2C route. I went through a lot of threads here where they mentioned that they denied LE on other credit card statement.

On the forum, I also found a screenshot where it was mentioned that HDFC accepts Amex, Axis, HSBC and Standard Chartered Bank CC statements for LE. I immediately downloaded that and changed the timestamp to avoid any suspicion. I immediately mailed them regarding LE on Priority Redressal and attached that SS as well along with relevant documents.

After that, I received a response from them. To my surprise, it was written that other bank CC statements are accepted as well and asked me to send the documents again even though I had already mailed them. I thought it might be a mistake and it definitely was but for me it was an opportunity.

After that I sent a mail to HDFC Bank MD Desk in the hope of quicker resolution of issue. After that I received a call from the bank stating that we do not accept other bank statements to which I contradicted them by saying that I already have 2 proofs but why is the bank now backtracking on its own rules under the guise of internal policies. He told they will respond in 2-3 days.

After 2 days, I got another call from HDFC. They said they'll take ITR or Salary Slips into consideration. I simply told them I will file my ITR in the last week of July and my payslips are from different firms so won't be possible. He still persuaded me to give ITR or salary slips. I told him that I don't want to be a customer of a bank where the bank employees have no clarity over their policies and backtracks after giving things in writing. (Seems he was not aware that my card was LTF). I chided by saying that I don't want to be a customer of a bank where I have doubts over the integrity of the firm and its employees and will rather switch to a bank where honesty is a core principle of their day to day functioning and I will also escalate this issue to RBI BO over lack of clarity in intimation of policies to customer therby leading to deficiency in services. I told him that I had screwed them a lot with the help of RBI Ombudsman and will have no qualms in doing so again. He told me he'll talk about it with his senior. (No idea if there is anything above MD Desk as well).

Today got the call, they are willing to take my Amex card statements into consideration and will be sending me the mail regarding it shortly to which I need to give my consent and apologised for this incident. Also recorded the call because I have serious trust issues.

Now looking forward to the mail. 🙂

How can you people blatantly lie even in writing?
If the customer support doesn't have clarity about the bank's policies, how is it going to treat customers the right way?
One of my friend has been provided with credit limit enhancement by HDFC Bank by taking into reference 2 months credit card statement of other bank . I am even sharing the screenshot with you.
How is it even possible to have two different policies for different customers?
I am escalating this to RBI.
I don't want to be a customer of this bank due to issue with integrity of the bank.
Please help me with the closure.

I have a DCB LTF since 2019. My initial limit was 4L which was upgraded to 4.4 generously last year by HDFC 😂

Over last 4 years my income had increased by around 70% and other banks have given me cards with limits around 6.5 recently. Based on this thread I sent an email to priority redressal to increase limit and they asked for latest payslips which I provided.

After couple of days they reverted back saying that they can increase the limit by 5L and mentioned that they can't write total limit in the email due to security reasons. I provided confirmation happily as total limit will be 9.4 post this.

Now came the nasty surprise. After couple of days they sent another email ignoring previous conversation conveniently saying limit can be increased by 60k. And someone called me on phone saying it was a typo and they put total limit by mistake in original email.

I was pissed with this and sent a strong email using the templates floating here including ethics, ombudsman etc. Copied my RM and branch manager as well.

But, they didn't give a shit and just apologized and offered the paltry 60k enhancement again.

Is there any point in pressurizeing them again? Can I escalate this further? I have proof on email about what they offered earlier and how they flipped. But just wanted to check if will this result in any positive outcome anytime soon

Welcome to club 🙂 one of the few parameters they consider is amount of spend on card in last six months and the your indivisual NRV even though your family might maintain good NRV but they consider only individual NRV.

Try Writing again to priority they will definitely come atleast to 8 lakh

Any tips on how to get pre-approved limit enhancement on HDFC Regalia ?

Submitting ITR helped me increase credit limit from 3.5L to 8.5L on my LTF Regalia. Glad that they did not ask for payslip else they would have done 1-2L enhancement.

How to get an upgrade to Infinia from 8.5L Limit LTF Regalia ? Any recommendations on what options are optimal ?
Option 1: Move all my spends to Regalia and request for Infinia upgrade after 6 months with a spend of 7.5L ?
Option 2: Move all my spends to Regalia and request for Infinia upgrade after 6 months with a spend of 7.5L + Wait for credit limit to cross 10L ?
Option 3: Request an Upgrade to DCB now and post the upgrade, request an upgrade to Infinia stating that DCB is not acceptable anywhere and ask for Infinia ?

"We have received your financial/Other Bank Credit card documents recently. However we are unable to review your credit limit in the absence of specific written instructions from you in this regard.
We take this opportunity to clarify you that as per the recent regulatory guidelines, we would require your written request alongwith your Income/Other Bank Credit card documents duly attested to enable us review the credit limit in your credit card."

what is this specific wirtten instructions ?

i already sent Le form, last 2 months axis cc statement and cc front copy.. all things self attested..

please send me the format of letter and what sould i write in it ?

Maybe they are asking for Salary slip/ITR
