Did you apply from "Apply now" option from app/IB? How many Axis cards do you have? I have read only 3 cards are allowed per customer.

I applied through their website (LTF offer) and I currently hold only 2 Axis CC. PS: Also had recently (1month+) closed Myzone Visa CC.

That might be the reason. Usually banks have cooldown of 3-6 months from last successful application/rejection/closure. But its better to ask their customer care for the exact reason.

When I asked the Axis phone banking team to switch from VISA to MC, they simply sent me this link and informed me that this would be a non-LTF upgrade, with no other options. Could someone please guide me on how to convert VISA MyZone to MC?
